Yes I have one for my caravan and I’m very short on space in there and that’s exactly what I do! I put it out at night and leave to drip dry then put away in the morning so looks good! ❤

As big as the draining rack is, you can always put it in a cupboard when not in use, encourages you to dry the dishes too plus it’s a lot cheaper than having to buy a new worktop!! I love your new home and how it’s making you and Sherps happy. You dun good Jamie. Stay safe xx

Moving is always a huge job but you're getting there, and once it's all done you'll be kings of your castle.🤗👍 Definitely put up a nice fence along the driveway to the corner with a gate across the path, it'll look good and set your mind at ease for Sherpa. We bolted one of our gate posts into the wall and it's been 37 years and still solid so no worries once it's in place. We had to put chicken wire mesh under the bottom of our wooden fence to keep gophers and rabbits out of the garden - we live in Alberta now, originally Geordies 😉 - but nothing stops porcupines. They climb in using the crabapple trees! Never knew they were both nocturnal and tree climbers. 😊 I love looking through your new windows, such gorgeous views.💖

Put your old mats in your bedroom for Sherpy until you get something new. I’ve said it before but I’ll repeat it now, you are pretty handy. All the things you do on your own is fantastic. The job with the mesh for the dogs is great.

I'm in love with your new home and Sheroa garden. I pray that you both enjoy it for many many years to come. I just watched the one on Sherpa's lover tests and I'm so happy he's ok. You take such great care of the cheeky boy. My girl is 5 yrs old and she is my best friend, roommate , and girl. I can't imagine my life without her. She loves watching nephew nook. She will watch Sherpa and key but she is enthralled with NOOK. I don't know of its his beautiful white coat or what but he us her favorite . When I have to leave her at home I always put on the tv to KZbin and one of Nooks playlists and she either lays on our bed or hers by my recliner and watches him till I get home. You take such great care of Sherpa and I'm sure he knows how blessed he is just as you know how blessed you are to have him. Thanks for sharing you best friend with us. You don't realise how much 'stuff ' you have until you move 😄. Your lovely new house is looking really homely now and Sherpa looks so super relaxed there. You could get some opaque decals or stripes to put on the glass doors to prevent Sherpy walking into them, you can get them especially for glass doors.

Making a new garden escape proof is always the priority. Especially for visitors too. We used a fence with alternating planks and gaps for our garden and it worked well. Lets wildlife though but not a large dog. Definitely something between garden and drive wanted, that was our worry too when we moved near a road. A gate in it would be good too, then you have easy access if you're in the garden or if you want to let Sherpa run around straight away when you get back from travels. Enjoy your new house and garden! So nice for Sherpa to be able to run free in it with no worries. And what a view for you.

You could put up a temporary fence & then put in a hedge of mixed flowering bushes for the long term. You can get different bushes that will flower at different times of year, starting with Forsythia to provide a display of brilliant yellow in the dark of the year. You could include some bushes with berries that birds will like & later put in some fruit trees that will also provide cheery blossom in the spring & patches of shade in the summer..

In Sweden, the most common dog fence are Metal Composter /compost grille. They are awesome and last for years. I use them in my garden too, but to give my cat a chance to get away from the fluff monster.

A garden is fantastic for dogs. Seeing them just taking naps outside is great. Had a dog that loved summer since we could have our doors open and she just went outside and inside just as she pleased, taking naps in bed or on grass, eating a bit, the drinking out of a barrel collecting rainwater. Doggy heaven!

Thanks for sharing memories of your dog. Most of us have said "...had a dog" or "...had a cat," and I remember my cat. She was an inside cat and never tried to go out of the door when I opened it. However, I left it open a little too long one day and off she went. I nearly had a heart attack. She went under the edge of a shed next door and just looked at me. I got the box with her dry kibble in it, shook it, and gently coaxed her out enough where I could reach down and pick her up. Oh, what a relief that was to hold her in my arms once again. I had my Emily for 19 years, and that was the only time she slipped out the door. I still miss her even though it's been 10+ years.

If someone in your new neighbourhood is proficient in Dry Stone Dyking it would be (1) nice to see an L-shaped stone fence the same colour , and as similat texture to the Natural Stone of you home's exterior in an appropriate height for Sherpa's safty and your privacy, you may need a gate at the garden entrance, for your convenience in getting things from the van, to the Garden area. (2) a wooden fence of similar rail dimentions to the Deck railing, so as to appear similar to the visual pattern of the Deck and the wood colour there. Sherpa was pretty clever sussing out HIS boundries right away -- or maybe looking for voles or squirrels?

Sherpa says he wants, needs and deserves at least one thick mattress for his painful bones and joints, please! ❤ One for sleeping in your bedroom, one for the hangout part of the house to be with you and at least one outside. Seriously, thin little dog pads don't do squat for big pups like him. We put sofa cushions on the floor for our big pup as he got older and what a huge difference in his pain relief and sleep quality. ❤ ❤ ❤ 👍 👋

I just read a response Jamie wrote to someone concerned about Sherpa's bedding. Jamie explained that he had four nice big beds for Sherpa but that Sherpa chooses to sleep on the floor or one of his cool mats. With thick fur like Sherpa has, he probably gets too hot in a big bed.

For coolness, we used to have a large, water filled pad called a Chillow. I got one first for me hot flashes, lol. They began making larger ones for large dogs and now I see a few brands on the market.

Jamie, you could put a picket fence just on the outline of where the concrete ends - that way it will separate the drive from the garden and Sherps will be secure 🐾💕 you could then either creosote or paint the fence. Congratulations on your lovely new home - it looks lovely 😊

But I did think Sarah could have helped move boxes in her car or just help him pack up and clean a he got packed up , but I guess we all have our differences with how families do stuff! Amazon has greenery fence, that’s rolled, it looks like your bushes, that might work to block off where your van sits. They also have cord covers for the floor that matches your floor, one strip would probably be enough length to cover your TV cord! Drainer, look at the pop up drainers, you’d probably like!

We spent a lot of $$$ fixing up our house but the best money we ever spent was the fence. We have 3 acres and fenced in little over half of it. Great peace of mind that our two Great Pyrenees won't get out. They are a wandering breed.

Sherpa's relaxed sleeping in the garden just reminded me of my aunt's pack, the first day they all finally dozed off together for an afternoon nap, in my care. Your house & groun will spoil & it all looks so lovely. Those long rugs are great I've got two great for both of my dogs. Its so hard work moving houses getting straight but so worth it. As for your fence its fine solong as it does the job of keeping Sherpy safe. Love the telephone light never seen that before.

Why not put a nice looking wooden 6ft fence along the open part outside, and at the end, near the house, you could have a gate to the back path...so Sherpa will be safe and it will give you some good safety & privacy 🎉

The weather in this video is the same I'm having where I live, rainy and cloudy. On the other hand, I like that granny visits you with Nook on Sunday. Sundays with family are great!
