Also, a hidden feature that could used(I’ve had to use a screw driver for this in the past) is if the obsidian is stuck on your barrel, but you can remove the the piston cover by hand, you can then use just the bar through the gaps in the pistol to break that free most likely if you don’t have the penetrating oil or 5 extra rounds to pop off

I did the same and feel the third-party tool is better than this one. Good concept but the other brand doesn't scratch.

This tool is made out of Delrin it isn't likely to scratch like metal or some other materials.

Why do you need a piston for other suppressors to run on handguns but we can just direct thread the oculus on a handgun without a piston?

Most .22LR firearms(using the Oculus) have fixed barrels, allowing for direct thread mounting of a suppressor. Tilting-barrel (Browning-style) handguns, require a booster system (also called a Nielsen Device).

My endcap (Razor 762) has tried to unscrew itself at the range twice and I still can’t get the tool because I guess it’s just permanently out of stock.

Use a rubber mallet and a hex key. Place at the seam and tap.

My obsidian 45 is stuck and cannot get it apart to clean, any pointers ideas or solutions on how to get it to come apart?

Try using Tap Magic or penetrating oil in the seams. Shoot it a couple of times to warm it up and allow the fluid to seep into the suppressor and then try to get it to come apart. If that doesn't work for you, please contact our Customer Service for help.

I use a heat gun to get it going but it's tight AF even though I hand tighten.

Do you have an open end tool so when you unscrew suppressor off a fixed threaded barrel and the end thread cap from suppressor gets stuck on barrel you can take it off?

I just wrapped a leather glove around mine and turned it with a pair of smooth jaw Knipex pliers.

I also have a 3rd party tool but the one thing that tool can do that this one can't is get the suppressor off when it carbon locks to my barrel.

What third party are you talking about? The warren innovative technologies? Any way you could explain? I just purchased the rugged and don’t mind buying other tools to have other options. I support what gives me options

I'd get one, even if $50 is expensive a-f, but haven't seen them in-stock in a month. Edit: Well I got one. Talk about cost inflation.. I thought the actual "tool" components were metal.... THEY'RE PLASTIC! $50 for this thing? You guys must be making insane money on these, because it can't cost you more than $5 in components.

Thanks for letting us know. I thought it was kind of lame that the end cap tool that came with my suppressor was plastic. I'd definitely have been pissed off buying this to know all the tools were plastic.

Would have loved to bought this and the flash hider end cap with the $200 store credit promo, but Rugged refused to honor their promo because I put my suppressor on layaway a month before the promo started. I offered to purchase it during the promo and pay it off so that it objectively would have been purchased during the promo but they still refused to honor it. Left a bad taste in my mouth. I highly doubt I'll be buying another Rugged, especially with the issues I've had with the mount.
