Scott should do what @LaurDIY , and take his puppy to "school" for about 2 weeks like she did with her lil puppy. "School" teaches the puppy not to bite, obviously some tricks, and potty trains the lil puppy ! I highly suggest it.

Typical_Bella or you can do it yourself to bond more with your dog and it can learn to respect you. Plus dog care in general is expensive let alone a school.
@papamarik7 жыл бұрын
That's such a waste of money hahaha she's a puppy it's just a matter of time and patience 😊
@sanne9097 жыл бұрын
best way is to take the puppy out several times a day, and whenever she does her needs cheer on her. And whenever she bites just say a simple word with a serious voice like "no" or "stop" and give a toy instead.. It will probably take 1-2 weeks but there will be improvements :) if you wanna bring your dog to "school" you probably shouldnt get a dog in the first place.

Scott you're supposed to leave the puppy for some time alone each day so that don't develop separation anxiety. Just start with 30 mins and then extend. My dog has severe separation anxiety because we never left her alone as a pup and she's 12 now and screams when we leave lol

Scotty, if you want to train Link to stop biting and to use her potty pads, as well as properly crate train her so she isn't whining when she goes in there, the best way to do it is by personal training. You can sign up for plenty of places that will have a trainer come to your house, that way they can do more focused training in the her normal surroundings and target things that she is having particular issues with, such as chewing or scratching certain items or pieces of furniture, marking or peeing in certain places in the home, so the trainer can get to know the surrounding area and if there are any other dogs in close proximity that may be causing some of the bad behavior, such as excessive barking or whining in a certain area. A lot of people who are first time, solo (as in not a childhood pet), dog owners don't know how to train their puppies or which is the best way to train them, i.e clicker training vs positive reinforcement. Every dog is different and so is every owner. Not all owners have the time or patience to do clicker training and stay on top of it. In your case, there are 4 people living in the house, plus all the consistent visitors, but only 2 owners who are going to take her training really seriously. So you have that added challenge going into training. On top of that, add Charlie and Wyatt spending nights there frequently and that adds even more of a complication. What you should do is hire a personal trainer to come to the house on days when everyone is there, including Charlie and Wyatt so that everyone is on board and on the same page with her training and Jason needs to offer up some sort of positive reinforcement for Charlie and Wyatt for participating and following the training rules when they are there. If just 1 person isn't following the training properly, it can set back the progress a ton. On top of in home training being a great thing so that Link gets targeted training and everyone is involved, you can also start right away since she doesn't have to leave the house and having all her puppy shots isn't necessary to start. You can start the training now and get her shots as you progress and then once you have all her shots, the trainer can start working on walking with you and her.

Actually Scott don't teach her that if she pees to take her outside. I had a German Shepherd and when I was training him I read that as well, but then I realized he began to purposely pee inside to go outside. They will associate that eliminating inside the household gives them access to the outdoors. Sometimes you'll have to put her in a "time out" so she knows it's not right to go to the bathroom in the house. What will also help the bathroom training is rewarding her with multiple treats when she pees or poops outside! Blue buffalo makes theses meaty square type of treats that are low calorie I believe and you can rip it up into smaller pieces to trick her into thinking she's getting multiple treats but she's only getting one. Hope the puppy training goes well!
@hippo123lollipop57 жыл бұрын
When my dog was a puppy his teeth were so sharp and they hurt way more if he were to bite you than if he were to bite you now as a 100 pound german shepard. The lesson you have learned today is don't underestimate puppys for their size because they can leave scars🐶
