These cars are just incredible. Vintage styling, modern performance in a light weight car, artisan built, tactile materials, just perfection, and most importantly they seem to be built to be driven, rather than simply sit in some billionaires garage as an investment. Just wonderful to see cars like this still being made.

He is teaching young people the arts involved with creating these beautiful cars. Wheeling new panels in steel and aluminum, gas welding seams etc. 20 years ago I was was getting involved with this sort of thing, I built an English wheel, I was restoring 1950s and 60s Alfas, then did rotisserie restorations on three Jaguar XK-Es. Those days are gone, I haven't run a bead since 1998, but I would love to get a mid-60s Alfa GTV to restore.

Kevin mentions 1.5 - 2 years goes into each. 1 man, 12 months = 2000hrs. In those hours are jobs never seen, a part of him goes into each car. I watched my Father restore many, from a field with a tree growing out of it to winning awards. Appreciation for dedication to engineering skill.

I wonder when you compared the Dino 246 with this model you considered the age of the total package and engine condition. Original Dinos are as Kev said like me in quite poor condition and rot boxes compared with the cars Kevin has worked his magic on. I remember testing and setting up Dinos in the late '70s and they were rocket ships back then. The work Kevin is doing cannot be underestimated to restore and improve on one of the greatest V6s road cars of the era.

"this with at the time money or "120 contos?"

For a wealthy gentlemen, this would be a nice car to have. The Dino is rather unique. For an ordinary individual, it's uneconomical to say the least. A new Mustang GT or something a bit newish is much more doable.
@1240enzo5 ай бұрын
Ahm mate, you missed the fact that the dino 2.0 and 2.4L V6 was also used in the Fiat Dino spider and coupe. The thing that Kevin misses though in putting V8s into the Dino is that it actually ruins the nature of the car. The Dino V6 is not just about power but actually about finesse. The Dino V6 is an orchestral symphony. The V8, sadly while sure gives more power misses out in the aural splendour and with its flatplane crank sounds simply like a highly tuned 4cyl engine. So in my view it’s a huge mistake to ruin the ethos of the Dino. In simple terms leave the Dino alone and enjoy it for what it was designed to be.

The extra weight of safety and environmental requirements would kill the performance. You only have to look at the new Red Bull road car. The 246 was a daily driver, not some posing Instagram opportunity with huge air intakes to let the farts out.
