This is mostly correct. Doesn’t cover that pre 1982, JVP was in the political system as a legitimate political party. JR’s government saw them gaining popularity and took them out of the political system illegally and very unethically. That was the root cause of what happened in 88/89. Additionally, NPP is now in the middle ground, that is they aren’t left or right, they are in the middle. AKD and his party are gaining fellow Sri Lanka’s trust by every minute and I trust them to deliver.

The reason for that is simple : in any society, conflicting Economic Interests are at play. One group wants to exploit another with repression. In the past (1988/89) JVP was trying to do good for the people and stand for rights of the people.but the government never listen to what they are saying and there election rights was violated for long period of time finally they rebel against government as the last option. At the very beginning they were trying to do that rebellion in a harmless way but the government interfered and create a conflict between army,police and JVP.Then the horror started and killed 60000 youth in our country in a very brutal way. The culprits who responsible for slaughtering those innocents are still in our society and they destroy our country time to time. Finally we have hope for putting an end to this corruption because AKD is the president

Correction: the Aragalaya didn't begin in urban areas or with those boys referred to. It started before that in the rural areas, with fishing and farming comminities holding small protests that got more frequent, since they were the first to feel the squeeze. The urban areas then saw pocket protests sprout up, which then exploded into the Aragalaya.
