Join us today in Casablanca, Morocco for a guided tour including the Souk in the old Medina, the Mosque Ould el-Hamra,
First, we met up with our guide Youseff at the old Medina to tour the Souk and learn about traditional winter and summer Moroccan clothing. This huge market had everything you could possibly need or want to buy.
Next, we walked to several places of worship including Mosque Ould el-Hamra, the Church of San Buenaventura & Ettedgui Synagogue. These three buildings represent the three Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) in a space of 250 m2 in the old Medina.
Then, we rushed over to the Hassan II Mosque and the Marina Casablanca. The Hassan II Mosque is the second largest functioning mosque in Africa Its minaret is the world's second tallest in the world at 210 metres (689 ft). Designed by Michel Pinseau under the guidance of King Hassan II and built by Moroccan artisans from all over the kingdom it was completed in 1993. It stands on a promontory over the Atlantic Ocean; so worshippers can pray over the sea. The stunning Port of Casablanca was the largest artificial port in the world, until 2007.
After our tour, we stopped at La Sqala for dinner. A historical building from the 18th century, a fortified bastion from the 18th century with cannons. Instead of dinner we decided to try some delicious desserts. And boy were we pleasantly surprised!
Finally, we end by visiting the amazing Rick's Cafe from the movie Casablanca! Here we enjoy the scenery, decor and so much more! Elaine tries an interesting cocktail and enjoys the ambiance of Rick's. What an awesome adventure!

We have been working and traveling the world together since 2016. We have decided to "risk it all"! We quit our jobs, sold our cars and are hoping to 'live like locals' as vagabonds traveling the world. To record and share our experiences with family & friends we are creating these short videos from our travels. We hope you enjoy!
