Pinned comment: Hey guys, this is a re-upload from last February. It’s been updated and this time it’s actually being released in December (makes sense for a video about Christmas Markets, eh?). Don’t worry, re-uploads are not going to become a regular thing. Enjoy!

I think you should make another video at RAW xmas markt spending more time there! The best for last and we didn’t get to see it 😢

We’d love to do that. Not sure if we’ll have time this year to go, but we definitely want to make it up to you guys since it was our fault it didn’t end hp in the video 😉

haha oddly enough we were sober :) We actually only had 2 small glasses of Glühwein each, one of which I had to pour out most of it because I was running haha

@@agdwchannel I think the experience would be more authentic if you visited just one in that time and tried to enjoy just being there. Christmas time in Germany and most parts of Europe is about being contemplative, calm and modest and enjoying the lights in the darkest month. Not rush hour. I guess the important part is that you had fun though. Berlin isn't clam anyways,

Wait €5 Glühwein = “expensive as shit”? A normal glass of wine is €12 in Colorado 😭
@agdwchannel20 күн бұрын
In general, wine in Germany is cheaper than in the USA. But this is Glühwein, not a normal quality bottle of red wine or something similar (it's very cheaply made). A direct comparison can't really be made haha

A very special tour. I enjoyed it, because I could sit at home while you did all the running for me. Thanks. Glühwein usually is spiced with cinnamon, star anise and cloves. Cheers. 😄

That is one of the biggest things I miss about Germany. There is nothing like the Weihnachtmarkt. My favorites are Colon and Trier.
@agdwchannel21 күн бұрын
Never been to those Christmas markets. What was your favorite part?
@dstrottman20 күн бұрын
@@agdwchannel The Gluhwein (sorry no umlaut). In Koln, you have the cathedral right behind one giving is a great back drop. If you don't like the wein they have hot chocolate that you can add Bayles, peppermint schnapps or one other item I can not remember. They also have a type of Gluhwein with chunks of fruit in it. The hand crafts are great, the music they have playing (live choir) and the wooden stands with pine branches everywhere. Farther into Cologne in is an antic Weihnachtmarkt that has all hand made crafts. The brots and cinnamon nuts. The Trier has 2 areas of it, the one area is in the Hauptmarkt and has a marry go round and other small rides for the kids. In that area is a dish, I cannot remember the name of it. It is a rounded dough with your choice of cherries, chocolate, or rasberry (I believe is the last one, it has been a long time) covered with vanilla sauce and sprinkled with powder sugar. The food is given on ceramic plate and metal utensils, not paper and plastic. The schwenks on a brochen or brots on a brochen cooked over a wood fire is so good. They also have roasted chessnuts. The other part of the markt is in front of Church of Our Lady and St. Peter's Cathedral, this is the old part of the Weihnachtmarkt. They also sell loose pine branches and other materials to make your own window wreath and advent wreath. Again the smell of the pine, food and drink as well as the music and the cold just brings the Christmas atmosphere. I had just read that Trier Weihnachtmarkt was voted the Best Christmas Market in Germany for 2024 by tourist platform European Best Destinations as the most Romantic Christmas Market in the World. I love it.

I have a feeling the reason Christmas markets aren't really a thing in the US is because of the lack of public transport over there. You'd have to drive. So, a Christmas market without Glühwein, what's the point? Plus, where would you put them... And yet, they're sooo much fun :D
@agdwchannel21 күн бұрын
That’s true. You wouldn’t be able to have a bunch of Glühwein and then drive back home!

Very sad what happened in Magdeburg yesterday ! Let's think a second of the victims !!! They wanted to find pleasure at a Christmas market and found violence.
@agdwchannel12 күн бұрын
Yes, that was absolutely disgusting. We’re thinking of everyone that had to endure that unnecessary violence.
