1:40 Former Wendy’s employee here. Yes, we never froze the hamburger patties. We put them in the refrigerator until they are needed to be grilled. The French fries are totally frozen though. Also, if one Wendy’s is a bit gross, there might be another that is good, because the quality of the food is really up to the employee. If the employee doesn’t clean the grill during a slow hour (which I’ve dealt with before), the burger will actually not cook all the way and have old burger grease on it. Also, if an employee doesn’t keep the fries below the frying line in the basket, those fries above the line will remain partially frozen. You just have to find a Wendy’s with employees that actually do as they are told.

Facts and I’m also a former Wendy’s employee. I have heard of other stores that are in the same district as the one I worked in that were not good in quality. I was actually kinda glad to be in one that favored quality and cleanliness.

Making fresh fries is quite laborious and not really necessary, at least. They might even taste less greasy than what customers are used to and desiring :D Whereas fresh meat makes a big difference, not only in taste but also because frozen burger patties are a considerable health risk.

Makes me happy that even the restaurants everyone likes to shit on got some love here. It seriously goes to show you that it REALLY depends on your location, not all places will have the same quality. The prep is supposed to be streamlined to be the same, but if the frycook decides they're going to give you the fries that have been there the last half hour, well...that's not the restaurant chain, but the person serving. Or the fault is with the cheapskate manager breathing down their neck and not allowing much of anything to be thrown out and made fresh. BK's fries are my favorite and their whoppers stand as one of my favorite no-frills burgers. They're not out of this world, but they're decent. Same for the quarter-pounder from McD, though as they're *supposed* to be made to order, multiple times I've gotten raw burgers now. Which...yay, it was made fresh? But that sucks when I worked away from home and then I couldn't eat half of my meal, making it a very hungry slog through the rest of my day. I'd have to cook the burger myself when I got home.
