“We Want Justice For Our 8-Year-Old Daughter Nuria Sajjad” | This Morning

On 6th July 2023, 8-year-old Nuria Sajjad was reading out a list of her hopes for the Summer holidays at a tea party hosted by her school. But those dreams turned into a living nightmare when a vehicle ploughed into the playground, seriously injuring Nuria and her mum, Smera. Nuria’s injuries were fatal and she passed away in hospital three days later, with Smera sustaining multiple injuries. Mum Smera and dad Sajjad join us to share their frustration at the lack of legal progress 8 months on and to remember their daughter a day after what would have been her 9th birthday.

absolutely agree, it is very very unusual this delay...understaffing is not a justification for the delay, this is a very exceptional case and they should be able to call officers from other forces. I do believe the woman is someone very well connected and very very wealthy

This just breaks my heart into a million pieces. I have a miracle daughter that we didn’t think we’d ever get. After so much loss and tragedy in our lives I can’t imagine losing her. I wouldn’t even know what to say to them in a situation like this. I’ve lost a late term pregnancy but that doesn’t even come close to this loss. I really hope they get their justice 💜

Would it help if everyone wrote to the Local MP? How could this be delayed this much. Surely a person cannot properly grieve and find healing when there is no justice. I wasn’t able to read the story when it happened last year as I have an 8 year old, and I can’t imagine the pain. I wish the parents healing and strength and the justice they need.

Because firstly she is not charged with anything . Secondly they still investigating you was not there I was not there . They need find out the cause of why she lost control of the car . Thirdly it can take upto year before charges are brought look at mason greenwood case charges were not quickly brought . Let the police finish it investigation and for cps to look at case and decide what to do next . It sad what happened but we don’t know whether it was negligence or recklessness

There was a little girl of East Asian heritage who got ran over and killed in Wimbledon relatively recently too and her parents got interviewed on TV. This is a serial occurrence. Are POC's lives dispensable? Do rich people who frequent Wimbledon get off scot-free? What is going on here? Where is the accountability? Where is the justice?

That girl was called Selina, she was in the same accident with this family’s girl. They both died. They came from same school same accident. One incident.

I never understood when the person who did it is still on the scene when the police turn up. There can be much of an investigation. Officially they want to know why she did it . So heartbreaking . 8 months and no answers . How the women who did this can carryon her daily life and sleep at night I do not know. How did she manage to crash so early in morning when the school was fenced all around. If she was on science was she breathalysed to see she had been drinking as it was reported that tennis was on around that area when it happened. Had she been to the event and stayed out drinking. Why when 2 innconcent kids have died is she out on bail and not charged. Why have they not put her picture in paper or named her sounds very odd. Why are police covering this up and why are they not taken by it seriously. If it was police officer that had been killed it be non stop news and person would be in prison by now. To say there are staff issues is digusting and disrespectful to both the parents and their children. I hope after seeing this someone comes forwards to help them get justice. Really really hope justice is served and this story gets back in the media.
