I truly believe Liverpool do everything they can to challenge for major honors. Oddly, much of all of this hinges on the outcome of the City case. If City are found guilty of cheating, and with Chelsea's questionable deals to comply with PSR, along with Everton and United's ongoing struggles due to poor management, Liverpool will once again be vindicated. This will show all that LFC’s approach is the right way to run a club and serve as an example for other big clubs on how to be managed from the top down.

I’m a staunch FSG supporter and I will explain why. Every football club has a business side and a football side and the two feed each other in a sort of symbiotic relationship. I’ll start with the business side. Business: Let’s look at the facts. To summarize: before their arrival at the Club, Liverpool were on the brink of administration. FSG came in and it took them years to undo the damage done by Hicks and Gillett. They came in and upgraded Anfield and built a new world class training facility. They also refurbished Melwood for the Women’s team which is fantastic. They have exponentially expanded the Club’s revenues which allows the team to be continually invested in and that allows the Club to compete on a regular basis. Contrary to belief FSG have spent more than enough money and I will explain why I believe this to be true. Now for the side of things that fans actually care about: Football: Before FSG came to Liverpool, the Club had been involved in just two Title Races (in 2001/02 and 2008/09), been in two UCL finals in ten years and hadn’t won anything significant since 2006. Granted the Club had a bright start to the 2000’s winning virtually every cup competition in site, however that was all down purely to circumstances at the Club and couldn’t be sustained in the long run because Liverpool simply didn’t have the business structure to support it. FSG bought Liverpool and did not have immediate success and that is okay, they were new to football and were still figuring things out. They brought in King Kenny and in his first two transfer windows anything he wanted they gave him. It didn’t work out, Liverpool finished 8th and FSG decided they needed to be more careful with how they spent their money. Come 2015 and they are trying to adopt a money-ball approach by using statistics and data analysis to sign players (one of the first clubs in England to do so). Jurgen Klopp arrives and things finally start to click into gear. Now for the main point I am trying to make by posting this absurdly long comment: It’s October 2015 and Jurgen Klopp has just come in. In fifteen years, the Club has been in two UCL finals, competed in three Title Races and is on a three-year trophy drought (ten if you don’t want to count the 2012 League Cup). Fast Forward to 2024 and Jurgen Klopp has just left. He leaves the Club having won every major honour in sight including our first Premier League Title. A lot of fans complain that he would have won more if “FSG had spent more”. I do not believe this to be true. Just for the sake of this discussion stop looking at what the Club won with Jurgen, and start looking at his reign as a whole. The victories, and the defeats. This is what Jurgen Klopp was able to do with the funding FSG provided him during his nine years in charge (excluding the 2015/16 season): • He took the Club to 3 UCL finals, • Participated in 4 Title Races, • Got to 2 League Cup finals, • Got to an FA Cup final, • Got to a Super Cup and Club World Cup final. All of this in just six years (2018 - 2024). In six years, the team got to eight finals and competed for the League four times (yes I'm counting the 2023/24 season). The most competitive Liverpool have been since the dawn of the Premier League Era. All of this and fans still say FSG don’t invest enough money into the team. The true reason for Liverpool not having won more during Jurgen’s time isn’t because of a lack of spending, it is simply because of Man City and their shady business practices. All of this is why I believe FSG are good owners. They operate the Club as a smart and more importantly, a *SUSTAINABLE* business. That is how every football club should be run, and the amount of finals reached over the last six years is proof in my opinion that FSG are doing enough. In football you have to see the bigger picture and many fans don't do that. You need only to look at Chelsea and Man United to see how fortunate we are. And we must not forget our previous owners and how they nearly destroyed the Club. It took a decade for Liverpool to recover and start competing again. We are where we are today because of FSG. They provided Jurgen with exactly what he needed and he delivered. Any final we lost in that time is not the fault of the owners. YNWA 🔴

@@konzaros7482 Thanks for your reply. Regarding your questions: Yes you are right we went through quite a long UCL qualification drought between 2010 and 2016, that is not all down to FSG. The damage done by the previous regime was largely responsible for that. Regarding FSG specifically, as I said in my comment, they were very much owners learning on the job in their early years. They tried their system with Brendan Rogers but he wanted full say over transfers and that led to inconsistent signings which led to inconsistent performances across his reign. When Klopp came in and embraced the Data-based approach to signings, FSG were able to pursue the ownership model they wanted. Klopp and FSG working together was a key factor behind the success brought to the Club and it led to Liverpool's longest run qualifying for the UCL between 2017 and 2024. I believe this more than makes up for the rough start they had. Regarding your other question, the trophies we won between 2001 - 06 were all down to brilliant management. However the seasons we had were hit or miss due to funds not always being available. We won a treble in 01 and then went trophy-less in 02 (though we competed for the PL for the first time). We won the L.C. in 03 but went trophy-less in 04. We had a good couple of seasons in 05 and 06 winning the UCL and FA Cup, but the semi finals and Final we reached after that were all because of the money spent by Hicks and Gillett, money that belonged to the bank. And eventually the banks came calling and Liverpool could no longer sustain that level of competing. Thanks to FSG we can expect to compete every season with solid and smart financial backing. Once Klopp's teams started winning trophies he was able to keep success coming and that was down to him, the owners and the key relationship they shared. I believe wholeheartedly that Arne Slot will do the same. Thanks for commenting.

Grill them for running the club in a responsible manner? Their entire ethos is to run the club sustainably and to stay competitive. Is that something that deserves “hard questions”? Running the club sustainabile is good however,fsg dont do everything they can do sometimes we have needed that one player and we dont do it ,jurgen klopp mentioned before he would like the club to take a little bit more risk.
