Alexander Semyonov from the city of Khimki in the Moscow region signed a military contract for three months. A week later he was captured. He claims that the motive for taking part in the invasion was the desire "to help people from the LPR and DPR." However, neither what he saw in the war nor talks with Ukrainians changed his views on life. In an interview with Lubomir Ferens, Alexander spoke about his understanding of Russian politics: he calls the Ukrainians a close people, but believes that the Russians have the right to start a war to prevent "NATO expansion."
