If you watch she’s all that, you will understand a lot of the random things in this movie. Like the dance off scene and the song from sixpence none the richer. You will probably like that movie better than this one. Matthew Lillard’s character is Brock Hudson he is hilarious.

I haven’t seen the shooting script, but knowing that both the films were written by the same screenwriter I can’t help but feel like his script for this movie was pared down or the film was edited into this trash. It just doesn’t feel like the same writer at all. Except for one joke: the dj not knowing what his own equipment was. That was the only time I “heard” the original writer’s voice in this movie. She’s All That is the superior film, but that’s because the casting was perfect, the acting was mostly great (Paul Walker was not good in the film, very bombastic), and the character struggles mattered. Laney Boggs was given depth while Cameron Kweller was mostly a prop for the girls. His best moments are white knight ones-redirecting Pagett’s attention during her karaoke, fighting the jerk who tried to assault his sister- which would be fine if he was given any scenes to shine by himself. She’s All That succeeds because Laney isn’t a prop. She is given time to show her own struggles, to shine without needing the boys to assist. If He’s All That had allowed Cameron the same, this movie would have been much better. Of course, none of that matters if you cast bad actors....
