There's some map and agents trailers that fill the gap between some cinematics but we get most of the lore via voice lines and emails that we can see in the practice mode. So basically without spoiling the rest of cinematics left, the plot is about two parallel Earth's, Alpha (the main one or the defenders in the game)and Omega (the antagonist Earth or the attackers in game) that are in a secret war with each other, Omega is stealing radianite (an element that has big amounts of energy and can even grant powers to some people) of Alpha Earth, because they have a radianite shortage and their world is basically over without it, however, the way that they steal the radianite is through an artifact called the spike, that teleports the radianite of Alpha Earth to Omega Earth (we saw the effects of the spike's explosion in the first cinematic) killing everyone in range and damaging the stability of reality in the area. There´s more lore to talk about but that's like the basics of it

As we saw in the Shattered cinematic, the war is only secret on the Alpha side. On the Omega side the Valorant Legion and it's members are basically celebrities and considered to be heroes by the masses. And 2 of the maps thus far (Lotus and Pearl) are on Omega Earth, so on those 2 Alpha is the attacker.

One thing i would like to note is that a lot of the way that the characters use their abilities coincides with how many people use them in the game. In the second cinematic, Pheonix (fire guy) used a flash out of Viper's (the baddie) poison smoke. In the game, a common strategy is to enter the opponents smokes and use blinding abilities out of them. The valorant team really paid attention to their game when they made these cinematics.

The agent trailers (especially from Skye onward), map trailers, act trailers (each episode has 3 acts, usually with a short cinematic for each), and miscellaneous hype videos Riot has released for the game are a good source for some of the missing story pieces. But a lot of the lore has been delivered via agent voice lines, and various in-game interactable items (the tablets on Fade's release and Brimstone and Cypher's offices in the practice range along with a few others), along with hints in some of the player cards in-game, and some info from Riot's social media and other community interactions.

The best valorant cinematics yall havnt watches yet are mostly agent trailers. Like "Chamber's" trailer is one of the best. Also the music videos they did are just as feugo

Not really, Fortiche worked on Arcane while Little Zoo Studios and Axis Studios worked on Valorant’s cinematics.

it hurts me to watch some of these assumptions, but honestly its only easier to figure it out once you play the game/read a summary of the lore, and since its a game that keeps pumping out lore each act. so its just something to laugh at when you just assume, like Sage, her abilities are made of Jade, not Ice.

Riot is full of bs. They give Sage a storyline in on how she’s not just a support or just a healer then proceeds to nerf her self heal but buffs teammate heal as well as making her wall’s fortification time slightly longer which kind of forces Sage players to stick to teammates while making it harder for her to be independent. At least keep the self heal at 60 like before instead of 30. When you’re low and only heal yourself with 30 hp, the enemy only needs bullet from a stinger to the cooch and you’re dead.

They adjust Sage to better fit the gameplay; their in game ability limits are not present in their lore-reality. Especially as we see omen use his ultimate twice in the last cinematic
