Actually, following Phineas and Ferb's removal from Netflix, I spent a good few years disconnected from the show, but at the same time, I remembered that the tip of the shoelace had a name, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Then, quarantine struck and I rewatched Phineas and Ferb, as I had Disney+, and it was there that I came back to knowing about the aglet.

I think Dan was right about it not being too big of a deal, but I think that comes with a caveat of the older person’s (and ideally both parties’) feelings developing when they are both adults. Because it’s not clear how long they’ve been together, it’s a bit uncomfortable not knowing if that’s the case with them, but I’m willing to assume for the sake of charity to the creator and comfort for me. I used to think they were super cute so I don’t see any reason to assume the worst of it becoming canon.
