Also even Casey Kasem (shaggy's original VA) gave him his blessing in taking the mantle which I think is really cool that even shaggy's og VA believes he's a worthy successor.

Personally I really love Monsters Unleashed. Not every joke aged perfectly, and at times it sort of flip-flops between being aimed at kids vs. aimed at teens/adults, but I always thought the story was pretty good and the actors were perfect for their characters.

Monsters Unleashed is the best Scooby-Doo movie. Having watched the movie when I was a child I couldn't have known that my life would have taken such a drastic turn after watching it. Because I glimpsed the amazing sight of Scooby-Doo surfboarding on goo my life has improved significantly. I now have a wife and kids I'm rich and I will soon become president of Microsoft. My brother is nine years older than me, so he was just shy of turning nineteen and was grabbing milk from the kitchen when I ran into him just a couple days after watching this movie. My curiosity got the best of me, and I kicked my brother in the balls. Just witnessing a six foot one teenage man crumble before a three foot eleven ten year old girl was the most informative experience of my life. Fun Fact: In a scene with Shaggy in the car about to go into the abandoned place and he's like "Why can't we investigate a KFC" well apparently there's 2 different versions. The Burger King version and the Burger King version. Either 1 changes a couple lines and the drink Shaggy drinks at the beginning. I only realized this when I was watching this film again on Netflix and found a really small weird pause during the line, and the subtitles said Burger King instead of KFC, so I looked it up

When I first watched those movies as a kid, I loved them. Mathew Lillard is THE Shaggy, and he nailed his role. I will 100% admit the movie isn’t great, nor is it good. The best way to put it, is that it’s bad, but in a good way. Obviously it’s not worthy to get a third movie (fun fact, it was supposed to get a third movie), but it’s a classic to poke fun at, and question what the writers were thinking when they made it. Even though there were a couple more live action Scooby Doo movies after these two, but they weren’t as good. Honestly, I’d give Scooby Doo and Scooby Doo Monsters Unleashed a 6.8/10.
