So here we are - Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.
Has Kirk shouted "Klingon bastard!" for the last time? Has Spock finally found his protégé? It's possible that director Nick Meyer is a Shakespeare fan... but is Rob a Star Trek fan yet? Listen to find out!

This film has very significant strengths, such as the contrast between Spock and Kirk in relation to the peace negotiations, in addition to having a tense and engaging plot. And in the end the dialogue between Kirk and Spock is truly memorable. I love this movie.

doesn't the undiscovered country in this instance allude to the future?

There was a thought of doing a spinoff of some sort for Sulu. And they revisited it in Voyager. Also kilgon does not have the verb "to be"

Movies 4-6 discussions were re-uploaded because the last few minutes of the podcast were missing. They've been corrected now.

Regarding the low box office compared to the first four films: as soon as TNG hit the airwaves, the earnings for the films took a nosedive. Having Star Trek on TV every week really killed the novelty of the film series. And by the time this movie came out in 1991, TNG had replaced the Original Series as the "default" Star Trek in the public consciousness.
