It's not exactly a masterpiece for general audience, but for a fan of the show, who is deeply attached to the characters and wants to see them do stuff in a grander setting, this movie was honestly a dream come true, both for it's upgraded visuals and action-packed storytelling. As a fan of the show, I really enjoyed the quality of the movie. But I didn't like the contrived, out of character conflict the main cast had. Nor that the main villain was flat out incompetent, and didn't do anything to deserve Tempest's loyalty. Which in turn made Tempest kind of dumb for being loyal to him to begin with.

@@KelShu I'm one of the people who weren't caught up MLP: FIM when the movie was released just because it was broadcasted on Discovery Kids on my country,which as a kid,I didn't give a crap and I was more a Sonic fan (and I'm still a fan). The only problem that the anti-brony stuff was a thing for in the dark age,known as the Powerpuff Girls Era(2018-2020). However,on 2021 things changed a lot. This was the moments of before being a brony on June 2021, with its officially deal on the 25th of that month,finally starting the real deal:starting to like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic for now on.

Apparently he continued to keep up with the show I’m assuming until he got into the military where I’m guessing he got teased for it or something. As for my part it’s not something I talk about a lot anymore but like if someone brought it up I wouldn’t deny that I’ve seen it. It was good for the most part and fun. I used to walk around town rocking skinny jeans and a Rainbow Dash t-shirt back at the height of the show’s popularity. I guess back then it wasn’t as polarizing. I remember getting lots of compliments when I rigged up one of the grab bag figurines to sit in the fold of my beanie.

I watched it in theaters, the first movie I had seen in theaters since I wanna say the Rugrats movie back when I was a kid. I watched it not just as a fan of the show, but a fan of 2d animation. Unfortunately one of the kids at the theater was reacting... Rather loudly to the movie which impacted my enjoyment a bit. Beyond that though, I had no regrets. Is it some super amazing movie? No. There's episodes from the show that are better than the full length movie. Hell, debatably the second Equestria Girls movie might be better. But it's still an enjoyable kids movie. It's got some jokes that can make you laugh, some fun action sequences, and it ain't like the story is bad or anything. I ain't a movie person in general, but I'm pretty sure you could do a whole lot worse than the 2017 MLP movie.

Funny story, I'm the reason this movie got a screening in the original english audio in my country. Me and my friend were fans of the show, so we wanted to watch the film, but being an animated one it was only going to get released dubbed in my country. Occasionally some animated movies get releases in english with subtitles, but those are rare and reserved for giant films like spider verse or Pixar films, and even then maybe 1 or 2 theaters nationwide would have it in english. Either way, I wanted to watch it and started emailing theater chains to no avail. That is until I got to the cinemark near my university, they had close relations with my uni since a lot of alumni went there, it was right next door and they even let us use the theater for giant lectures on certain occasions. I go to the manager and pour my heart out telling him how it would be good, that there are fans that would love it. He didn't look convinced but on the premiere date I saw they had 1 slot in the afternoon that was in english. I was happy and told my friend who tried telling the other fans about it, but they already has plans for a showing on the otehr side of town. My friend and I go, and we were almost the only one int he whole theater, except for a mom and her little daughter. It was kind of ridiculous and I'm pretty sure I made the place lose money on that showing. But it's an experience me and my best friend will never forget.

As someone who had this hyperfixation for this show and fandom from 10-20 years old, I would do the same for awhile thanks to again hyperfixation. Thankfully my personality isn’t just mlp now and is more than that but this movie is still banger.
