Sorry for the click bait. Some notes: 1) We didn’t know the weather was going to be this bad. It was supposed to rain but when we got there it escalated. 2) Why didn’t we leave? We were on the far side of the fair and it was safer to stay inside the vendor area. 3) WE ARE OK - there were no touchdowns nearby. It was a warning. We followed the advice of the fairground staff.

I've worked fairs in all kinds of weather, including helping security get folks to the barn with the horses because of a tornado in Oregon. Always follow staff instructions when you get a weather alert. I hope you can get one of those swords at a faire this year... I'm saving up for a decent eating knife.. as the knife I have been using for the past few decades is a wooden handled serrated edge steak knife with a bent tip I found at a goodwill store on the way to faire years ago for 25 cents.

My husband and I were there too, and we loved the weather - well, me a little bit more since my husband had to pull me inside because I wanted to stay outside and watch the lightning 🌩️

After this faire, 100+ degree days don’t look so bad now 😂 And if I were to be swept away, I was glad it would’ve been with a friend ❤ LOL

Wow! Eventful day. All I could think of during the tornado warning was those swords you were admiring earlier would be no bueno if a tornado does touch down, yikes! I just had snow coming home from visiting my 93 yr old dad in Ohio. Weather bees crazy lately!🐝

No kidding!! We were discussing what we would do if it hit and we definitely planned on ducking under some tables. Don’t know how effective that would’ve been but thankfully we never had to test that! The weather has been so strange everywhere lately. The amount of snow Cali has been getting has been crazy too!

Yeah we were thankful we’re in Norcal where tornadoes, when they do happen, are tiny and just take some shingled off 😂 altho with how crazy weather changes have been I would not be shocked if that changed 😧

I went to a viking festival in peak tornado season in ohio (tornado land lol) and it was storming off and on all weekend. It was very fun atmospheric vibes but camping in the rain would not recommend lol. This very much reminded me of my weekend there and brought back some fun memories. Glad yall made it out of there safely ❤ Edit: forgot to mention, there was a viking sword battle in the thundering rain, it was so cool, if a total lightning hazard lmao.

Yeah I think they plan for rain just in case. They are usually mostly outdoor with some indoor vendors but they moved most of them inside. Unfortunately some were still outside in tents 🙁 (they were ok)
