the American MRE you just pour water in the bag and close it for 10 minutes as long as those Heating pads get wet a chemical reaction will heat it there is nothing else you need to do but close the bag and make sure they're wet and they will work I agree with you they don't Heat as good as a fire but it's better than getting spotted from far away cause of a open flame

American one is completely waterproof no paper, it's way more portable, and it likely tastes better if you're a westerner. That's my take. You can throw away the stuff you don't want and shed pounds as the day goes if you carry 3 U.S. MRE where as the Russian one is too heavy and you need to keep track of everything once its opened. Not very well thought out if you ask me. It looks nice if you're camping though. Soldiers are usually always on the move and I see it as a huge disadvantage. Lose your food and you're screwed.

Comparing the Russian and American military rations was a great idea. The nuclear test sight is interesting, the extra things you add like the Halloween costumes and the rations make the videos even more fun to watch. I'm looking forward to your adventures in India. It will be great when you can come to the USA and have adventures here.

Back in the day us British never caught on much to rations per se even though we invented them, bootnecks just carried tinned stuff in the backpacks usually a catering size of corned beef, similar of tomatoes and baked beans, dried onions and mushrooms and prob some dried veg and someone would be hauling the pot. I still make British army corned beef hash as my kids adore it, corned beef, tinned tomatoes/potatoes/baked beans, add in some dried onions and mushrooms and an Oxo cube and cook in a pot or a frying pan and you could march a day on that stuff... OK at night the sleeping bags were inflating like balloons with all that fibre and the night would be punctured with rorty farts to be heard for miles but good grub. The "modern" MRE's the British forces have to endure are lightweight but just rubbish I have been told, about as much substance as the American MRE's, just cheap junk. To think us British beat the world with just corned beef and tea...

That's such a bad idea eating before decontamination. Have a close look at their hands. Oh yeah there's hand sanitizer towels in the MREs, nevermind what I said, she'll be right 👍🥵🤢😱☢️ What could possibly go wrong? They have ONE tiny dosimeter shared between 3 people that's insensitive to half the radionuclides on that site properly. The Radiacode scintillation counter looks great for what it was designed for. It wasn't designed for extreme fields on nuclear test sites and some radionuclides like plutonium etc... 😮 The Radiacode saying that everything is good gives them a false sense of security. People should understand the limitations of detectors and why commercial scientific survey measurement units come usually with 3 calibrated probes or more. GM Pancake probe, GM tube adjustable shield dose rate probes and a NaI thallium doped scintillation crystal photomultiplier tube types etc, similar to the Radiacode scintillation crystal but usually with a bigger crystal. The Radiacode appears to be perfect for detection of stray gamma and logging the exposure, the fact it can do spectroscopy is amazing at the extremely low price but just like their chosen modes of cheap transport, it's inadequate for what they expect from it! Unlike the bikes 🚲 the Radiacode failures won't be obvious without a second meter to test it against. Never get a scintillation crystal wet it can destroy them...

See, the Americans took the p*ss out of us with our little hexane burners, thing was everyone in unit always carried a burner and a stack of tablets and a book of waterproof matches and they mocked us for stopping and brewing up but they never said no to a steaming hot cup of tea or a portion of what was cooked on the stove. The tea was super strong Indian tea, you added in a raftload of sugar and someone usually had a tin of evaporated milk stowed away and that stuff kicked you going better than any crappy coffee could try to, even palatable when cold lots of energy :D Now at a bigger base, if we had a tea urn we would knock up "sergeant majors" tea which was a catering sized can of evaporated milk, couple pounds of finest Indian Assam black tea, a whole kilo of sugar and you boiled the buggery out of it till it turned dark brownish, then topped off with water and left to stew and boy, caffeine boost all the way.

Everybody there's a screw on the bottom of your carburetor in the bowl all screw that screw and see if there's some dirt comes out of that bowl and if so you got to take the carburetor off and you got to turn around you got to open a needle valve off it could be plugged up or something that's what controls your fuel level that in the float that you know valve is messed up you need to get you to give you too much gas or not enough that's got to be clean inside that bowl for that carpet if that's work properly and you got to make sure you are screws and your one jet screw is it just now according to the manual

sometimes it can take a minute or 2 for the reaction to work in water heater. but if you have enough time to use it then you were given too much time. so people usually just eat the rations cold. last time i got my hands on one i kinda overfilled it and assumed it didnt work. but when i was looking at what else was in the bag the reaction started. its actually pretty cool. the one i got also had the "pizza" in it and.... yeah its not really delicious but if i was hungry i dont think id complain. it was like the lesser form of a frozen pizza. the cheese spread is alright. its kinda similar to spray can cheese. also there are 24 hour rations and not just a meal packet. i think when it comes to a difference between the 2 is when they designed the MRE's they have the intent of balancing out nutrition (which can be debatable) and the Russian Rations didnt take that much into account. but if you think about it youre not only going to be eating them non stop in the field so it shouldnt matter too much.
