You can always re-wire the hyper lites so that each pair goes on with it's own switch...so you flip 3 switches for all 3 pr of lights to be on, would save on energy use. Looks like the lights I need for my warehouse....Did they give you a code for a customer discount if we buy lights thru your recommendation??

Stoked. You can never have to much light. When you're older you will know what I mean. I would use the dimmer option if you want to tone down the light.

LED lights can - and do - last 100,000+ hours and more. ( The actual LED part ) They are also WAY less hot than regular old style lights. And - I just looked up the lumens on these lights ( 27.000 each ) and so yes - you have too many lights for that limited area. So removing some - splitting them into different circuits with independent switching - or buying dimmers would be wise ( especially on your electric bill ) unless you are going solar / off grid. Also - ( looked it up ) these lights are rated at a minimum 50,000 hours and have a 5 year warranty.

It l looks to me that these fixtures each have a set of 0-10V leads to dim the fixture off a 0-10V dimmer. This would entail running two low voltage wires from each fixture to dimmer switch. If you ever get to the point where there is just too much light, this could be an option.

A dimmer might be something to consider, LEDs will last significantly longer at lower power (lower heat output) than full blast all the time. Difference between you having to replace the lights several times within your lifetime vs them outlasting your kids and maybe even the grandkids. Heat is the enemy of LED lights. A simple test is to let it run for 30 minutes and if the metal heatsink (the casing) is too hot for you to touch (120F +), dimming the output will go a long way to maximizing longevity. Ideally you want a heat output anywhere from just above room temperature (in the 70's) to 100F, the lower the better. They can operate at much higher temperatures but the tradeoff is you're severely cutting their lifespan. That's where a dimmer is so handy, lets you adjust it to compromise between enough light output for your needs but not too much heat generation so they last longer.
@shanekasper45873 жыл бұрын
I can tell you from running a lot of different brands dimmer, none of them last as long as they claim.
@MacTX3 жыл бұрын
@@shanekasper4587 The dimmer or the LED? I have no idea now long my LEDs will last but with how long they've last so far on dimmers, I'm optimistic. When I remodeled back in 2012, I added interior house lights with LEDs (these are put auto on at dusk and off at dawn). The system is a combination of lights that stayed on all night and passageway/transit lights that go on/off with motion. There's basically light anywhere in the house without having to fiddle with a switch. I figured since these are LEDs, probably won't need to ever replacement them even with the heavy use they would get. A year later I noticed a bit of dimness and thought I was imagining it until taking a closer look and seeing a lot of the individual LEDs in the LED clusters were burnt out. It wasn't many, but enough to notice the dimness in sections with several burnt out LEDs. It was suggested to me to put them on dimmers. The entire system was replaced with one that had a dimmer back in 2015. Have not had a single LED burn out since then. The difference between the two setup was that in the old one the LEDs themselves were so hot during use that they couldn't be touched, while in the new system they're cool to the touch. The new system also contained twice the number of individual LEDs to compensate for running each at a lower output with the dimmer so the light level between the old and new system was maintained. I never understood the relationship between heat and LED longevity until noticing the LED street lights in my city oddly had burnt out individual LEDs in them even though they weren't that old. It clicked after doing some research and my own experience.

You'll be throwing away your old lights 👍

And of course... no way did the fact that you got the lights for free, affect your opinion of the lights...lol. Kudos to you for at least disclosing that up front. Most KZbin content creators don't disclose that they got the product(s) for free. When someone gets something for free there is an inherent compensation bias at play, and the businesses supplying the free products count on that. Folks watching such endorsements (aka "reviews") should keep such in mind when considering a purchase.

Here comes the freebies! See, your channel is getting noticed by the private commercial sector. Just be careful on what products you choose to advertise. If they are bad, and many are, they'll come back to bite you by upset viewers who bought them because of your advertising the product regardless of how many disclaimers you give. By the way, Mike, where's the elk?
