Hey all - one thing I forgot to mention. This game is available physically because it was produced by Limited Run, but the original release was digital. I still stand by they could have included the dlc in both and just pushed it back, though. They made promises on the versions of this game that never materialized.

Decided to play the game from the start, came across a holo recording at Peragus, a recording that wasn’t in either the remaster for the Switch initially or the original PC version. Then I remembered that Switch remaster of KOTOR II got an update a few weeks ago. I wonder *if* the recording is part of the restored content.

This is such a ridiculous situation. They should have delayed the port and shipped it with the dlc on the cart for the limited run version and in the initial download for the DLC version.

I hope that Jill gets better soon. I find the game disappointing as well. The only reason I bought it was that I wanted to play the Restored mod or in this case DLC for the first time and now I get the feeling that I wasted my money.

Tbf, it's not like LucasArts distributes the mod with Steam copies of Kotor 2. We apply it ourselves. Ditto with the mobile ports from Aspyr. I'm not excusing that they made a promise and couldn't keep it (tho I'm betting it was issues with higher up corporate pulling the plug on them). But ppl are also acting like every other version just had it and it's standard "dlc" when we're basically side loading it on Android and ios lol

one big issue i have with the switch port of Kotor 2 is the fact in dock mode it's practically impossible to tell what option your cursor is on in computers in the game

Kotor 2 was my first Xbox game and my first-time experience playing the star wars video game. Back then, I never knew it was rushed but I notice some signs on my second playthrough such as the HK factory and the final phase of the fuel quest. I was disappointed that it resulted from a game that was never finished, but it was a good game until many years later I learned about the existence of the TSL restored Content mod. This brings a big difference for Kotor 2, especially for those who don't have a device that can use mods and this is coming from a console player who played the TSL restored content on a non-gaming PC a try and it is a really fun experience. It is a shame that no one will experience this DLC will never be released

They really just need to tell players they made a mistake and it's not going to happen. Or they need to update it and say it's coming at an undisclosed date. Neither of those is a perfect answer, but at least it is an answer. Under their Twitter. Everybody asks about this thing and they never bothered to answer.

Yeah, i saw that, i don't remember the dude's name, but he said that there was some legal stuff that had to be dealt with before the DLC can come out. So Aspyr didn't lie to us, they've just had a rough time.

They announced yesterday I think the day after your video came out that the dlc is outright cancelled you can put in a ticket with your proof of purchase to get a code for one of their other games for free either Kotor 2 on steam or any other star wars game on switch I haven't gotten my code yet so idk if they're actually gonna pay up or not

Hope your wife feels better soon. I was only interested in buying this if it had the DLC as the game is a mess without it. For me that should have been included from day one never mind being teased as something that was to come out later down the line. The lack of communication is a joke. There really is no excuse for that having promised the restored content. Terrible way to treat customers.

i can't say at the time of this video, but they did bring Tomb Raider 1-3 back as a collection. it's not perfect, but it's been flawless since i picked up back in January or maybe it was February when they released. And other than a few minor nitpicks they play just like the original in alot of ways. now i don't know what happened here, there's a collection you can get now that has a bunch of Star Wars games thrown in. Jedi Acadamy, Outcast, to name a few. but if it was canceled then it's possible it may not have come from Aspyr, if that's the case then i can see why they didn't want to talk about it, but Aspyr has been involved in a few of these old game projects so far, so it's likely someone above them brought them in to work on these games. yeah i hate broken promises to, but i never once had faith in a remake happening. EA used to own the Old Republic name, but Bioware awhile ago announced that they were no longer doing the series. someone else was supposed to take over, but that series has long died ever since Bioware's announcement. the Star Wars name is owned by Disney, but i don't know if they had involvement with Kotor.

You can get it on your phone I know there is a way to get the mod but I don't want to mess with the files on my phone. I am thinking about getting the mod on Steam but need to finish my current playthrough.

I got the mod on steam and it runs very well. I would just make sure other things are compatible with it if you mess with it anymore than that. That's my only piece of advice. The only real problem I had on PC was recording the game. It runs perfectly fine, but recording was a bit of an issue for me. Me. I've seen other people do it easier and maybe they are just more familiar with OBS and some of the loopholes you can jump through to make it work on games that are designed a little differently, but for me that was always a bit of an issue. I think the mod adds a lot to the game though. There are several versions of it and some of them I believe are in different languages so just don't make the mistake some people made and install the wrong language on accident lol.

Honestly, I've been jaded since they cancelled the Midnight Suns Switch port. Any and all console purchases will be based on what has been released and assuming that nothing new will come to the console. I doubt that these companies are cackling with evil grins or anything. There just needs to be a higher level of competence or a more realistic outlook on what's doable before announcements are made.

It's so strange you're talking about this Jay, because I have been playing through the duology for the last few days. Just got done with 1 and have started 2, on the Series X. I knew there were Switch versions, but I didn't know there was gonna be a restored content dlc or even a trailer for the Switch versions! In any case, this is nonsense, and they need to follow through on their promise. From what I can tell, it seems Aspher wants to, but someone pulled the plug on them. It sucks. And it needs to be corrected. I wonder if the restored content dlc did well on Switch, if they would have done it for the Xbox version. I would have paid money for it!!

Unfortunately even Aspyr didnt know they were gonna get screwed over by licensing issues, EVEN though they got the greenlight originally. (On top of losing thw KotOR remake) so saying they lied is a stretch
