The shipping port with old Schooners is called Sunda Kelapa. It is quite well known, and the village you are referring to is like a shanty town which houses most of the fishermen and their families. Lovely people and right next to Sunda Kelapa. Been there a few times.

Honestly, Jakarta is one of the best cities I've lived in. Great food (seriously all cuisines mostly cause the food scene there is renowned), the shopping and the malls are to die for! Super friendly people and you receive such prestigious quality at a much lower price compared to other countries (food, cinema, spa, salon etc). Hope more people visit Jakarta! there's a ton of places to go that wasn't shown in this video

This place has been paradise during the lock down so unfortunately it took a pandemic to make the city drive-able. Im indonesian and i live in jakarta, foreigners are often called “bule” , and i love this video, because you are actually showing the beautiful side of my city, bcs some “bule” apparently cant see the beauty and only look at the bad side only, does this even make sense ? Lol? Anyways , thank you for not talking bad about my country, keep being positive and kind ! (Sorry if my english is bad)

there are still many interesting places that are not so viral among tourists. Central Java wonosobo. for those who are nature lovers and mountains with cool & fresh air. I am sure you will not be disappointed. go to Dieng wonosobo, Central Java, the country above the clouds. about 2 or 3 hours drive from Jogja

This brought back memories of when I visited Jakarta about 10 years ago. I also went to the Thousand Islands and stayed for a couple of nights on Tiger Island at an eco resort, it's still there I think. On the way back from the island there was a massive tropical storm and the roads were all flooded when we got back to the mainland like what you experienced. I loved Jakarta although some parts of it were quite confronting the people were awesome. You should go to Yogyakarta, if you haven't already been. Great vid!

Hi there, my daughter and I are looking forward to see Jakarta and surrounding. Plus visiting family relatives maybe for the last time in Mid Java this summer. The places you were visiting are great. We speak a bit the language, because it is my mother's tongue and in faith we Just go. Namasté 🙏🏽from the Netherlands.

My boyfriends family is from Jakarta so i've been 3 times now and every time i tell people i'm going there they are always so confused! it honestly is a lot of fun if you know where to go. the food is awesome and i really recommend mangga dua market and can even reach some other cool Indonesian islands like belitung with just a short flight

Jakarta is not built for tourists so if you want to visit, you really need to ask a local. I myself am a local and besides some cool cafes, I wouldn't know where I'd take tourists. Plus, the traffic means that you can only do one, maybe two things in a day. I see it as more of a "business destination". There are so many other places to go to in Indonesia that are so worth it tho (belitung, flores,, lombok, puncak, bandung, kalimantan riverboat stay, raja empat, komodo islands, etc.)

I always find it frustrating to hear people say not to travel to places they've never been too. We had the same when going to Guatemala and even with Croatia (would you believe), it's madness, these countries are incredible and I can't wait to visit every single country on this planet! 💚🌍🌳
