As someone who was married to a person who grew up in a hotel, I can confidently say, that kid was lucky to have a permanent bedroom, with or without a bath & loo in there! My ex used to have to give her room up regularly to tradesmen who stayed in the Dovedale in Cleethorpes. She kept all her things in a cardboard box & had to pack up & sleep in a shared room with her mum & brother. What a way to grow up!

@@Carol......I’m not old enough for rotary phones but I remember calling up for the time, I also remember calling up directory assistance to find out a number. We used to call them up in a phone booth and tell them our money got stuck and they would either give you credits to make a phone call or send you out a phone card with a few quid on it. We would walk phone box to phone box doing the same thing so we could phone out little boyfriends or friends 😂 they caught on pretty quickly though, I think we ruined that service for the entire nation because they stopped doing it. Oh to be 12 again 😂
