I really do like Chris Ballard, he’s been a good GM given all the adversity and circumstances the Colts have been through. I remember being at a Colts game two years ago, standing right next to where the players/coaches/staff park and drive into the stadium. He was one of the only ones who looked over and smiled/genuinely seemed to enjoy the presence of the fans there (while other staff tried to make us leave). I’ll always remember that, go colts!!

weird what medical concerns the NFL cares about. A medical retirement in college should be a pretty major one, but instead it makes a guy the first defensive player drafted.

The Falcons made a Madden move. Doubled up on QBs for 4 years. Kirk goes down, Michael is a high level backup in the league. Many backups got playing time last season.

I like Chris he seems like a good dude but they really need to use the same scouts Pittsburgh has for WR and Defense. The OL is mostly up or down too but seems like they have some good things going in the department. Everyone has room to improve

Our OL is fine, had one bad year (there was a lot bad that year) and everyone acts like they’re inconsistent. Y’all’s defense is solid, but what makes you think you all are better at drafting WR’s? I’m pretty sure the only “bust” we’ve had is Pierce and even he’s still too early to tell.

he reported some symptoms during the COVID year and so wasn’t able to be seen in person by a doctor. so the school forced him to retire to be safe, but he got seen and fixed up after the fact and was allowed to play again. if it was that bad he’d still be out

Rotating QB every single season will kind of screw with your success. I’m not a huge Ballard fan, but you can’t blame a guy that’s had a different QB every single year since he’s been in Indy.

You have a point. However. It’s the GMs job to talent acquire. By the numbers. Chris is a top 3 GM when it comes to drafting and free agency. Idk if you were around during the manning era and luck era. But they were constantly one of the worst teams when it came to injuries. Chris completely overhauled the nutrition, strength and conditioning, and Indy is now one of the top teams when it comes to injuries. Their salary cap structure under Chris has been basically the best in the league. The only thing I can knock him on, is they kept trying to one piece it with the QB, instead of just blow it up. He has evolved a ton since frank was let go. He’s really transitioned to a modern nfl roster construction.

And just because the colts didn’t overpay players other teams didn’t want in FA does not mean they didn’t get better. The resigned good football players.
