Weak Strobe or No Strobe?? Innova 5568 Timing Strobe Light Repair

Got an strobe light that wont strobe or that has a weak strobe ?
Watch this video! I take apart an Innova 5568 Strobe light to diagnose why the strobe was not flashing or was intermittently flashing.

A friend gave this strobe light to me. I decided to have a look into it to see why it wouldnt work properly.
I use a new version of this strobe light to do my tuning with so I felt like it was a good idea to get this one working again as a backup unit.
Fortunately, the teardown and diagnosis did not take long to do. all the internal connections seemed like they were still in good condition. All soldered joints were still shiny and good. No broken wires or board issues.
The main culprit was the big capacitor responsible for igniting the xenon light.
I tested it and the capacitor should have been 2 uF but did not measure out anywhere near where I was rated for. Therefore, the capacitor was bad and needed to be replaced.
After ordering a new capacitor and replacing the defective one, the strobe light started working as it was supposed to. The strobe was as bright as my new one!
