You guessed it😁... I carry the "Woodsman" by Devin Price, aka 2Hawks, which I believe is the smallest model of axe he makes. But, I also carry the Jeff White "Sloyd", which is 8" overall, with a 4" blade, and I keep it sharp. Then I carry the Bahco "Laplander", and a small Trapper pattern folder by Case which I keep for super fine work, cutting cord, opening pesky food packaging, etc. Finally, I have my belt knife, which is 12" overall, with a 7.5" blade(and a genuine crown stag grip with sterling silver accents). I want to keep her maker's name to myself for now, just because, she's "My Precious"[said in my best Gollum voice😂]! Also, I'm pretty sure her maker is able to take any new orders at the moment anyway. I might let you know privately. Anyway, it might sound tool-heavy, but each of those things are pretty light, the axe being the heaviest, and it doesn't even weigh 3/4 of a pound.

And the thickness, the nobo is more thicker! the steel of the Nobo get best heat treatment.

Showing the CRKT Woods Nobo, this is the lightest and easiest to carry of the Woods series.

Newish subbed! Can I ask, when you wrap the paracord near the head what do you use to stick it down and do you coat the top of the paracord.? Thanks and great video

I melt the ends together at the bottom, and if the coils start to come loose, I melt a few of them together at the bottom.

I wish they would not use clear lacquer on handles.. I find it slippery and causes blisters... good stain and oil preferred.

They should make it out of a better steel like 5160, 52100, W2 (edge hardened only), 1095 (if they only harden the edge), 6150, 1075, A2, O1, and S7. A2 and O1 would have to be at a lower hardness, or in O1s case, an hard edge and soft spine would work, just like 1095 or W2

With this available , why do people buy a chogan and cut the hammer bit off ? It don’t make sense

IMy daughter bought me that same axe sharpens perfectly but when I looked down the handle I noticed the blade is scewed to the left fore the front of blade to rear of blade is off by 1/4" over the 3" length very disappointed it throws but doesn't fly as it should I don't want to heat and try to correct. cost me $150. i don't want to throw away. any tips?
@WeAllJuggleKnives
@WeAllJuggleKnives 3 жыл бұрын
Sounds like the blade is twisted a bit, aside from grinding a bit off the one side to balance it a little more, I'm not sure what can be done.

I think I know the problem it is angled for a right hand thrower and I use my left , looked at a friends and his has the same twist. thank you

I like the Woods Chogan the best, because it hits the hardest. Yes, the CRKT hawks are a bit higher quality out of the box.

@@WeAllJuggleKnives do you think the spike end one is better for self defense? Animal or human?
@WeAllJuggleKnives
@WeAllJuggleKnives 4 ай бұрын
@@fathersonsurvival - The spike is usually used against the head, but the same strike using the hammer will also take someone out, so I prefer the hammer because the spike can accidentally hit the user on a backswing.

@@WeAllJuggleKnivesI guess in the event a bear came at you and before killing you, you had one strike to give. The axe blade edge or the spike in that instance? Hammer surely would just feel like a love-tap

Say Heah Is, maybe not Woody Pecker, huh, heh heh heh, Just jokin. This wood splitting reminded me how my new Paul'ies Delight chopped and splits. Yeah, I commisioned William Collins to make me a set, both are in a Cryo 3V and matching handles, my Paul'ies Delight is actually a large knife that sort of looks like a straight Kukuri, but William balanced it so good that the weight just glides when shaving wood with it and yet it thinks it's a Hatchet. I luv Choils and both have one. I posted them on my Google Plus, Lemme know what you think, Ok. Dilly, Dilly.,,.p
