@@LaverneWilliams-pi6rc Lmfaooo see Sweet Pea and Dopey are complete different characters with the same goal… the milk bar. However, Dopey was able to be weaned and not Sweet Pea. I’m no zoologist, but I suspect SP to have trisomy 22. It’s down syndrome in non human primates and he had all the characteristics. There was also a gorgeous baby girl who was labeled trisomy 22 but she was soooooo precious.

@@TLRing which is hilarious because Bossy is so strict with her babies… she starts weaning/schedule her feeding time with them. I was shocked when she was comforting cry baby dopey😂🤣 remember when Bossy disciplined Bossy Jr about feeding whenever he wanted? He was only a month old, she tore into him. He never fed without mama giving him permission.

Dolly has the cutest little girls. You can see the difference in their personalities. Dolcere always stayed by herself and her little sister is very social with the other babies. Poor Smitty, I wish he could be taken care of by a vet. But I'm sure that is impossible. Thank you AM for your long walks to find "Our Gang" Have a wonderful weekend.

I like weaning time as we get to watch the babies grow up and come up with crazy ideas to get milk. They will act scared and even come up with the sneak attack. It’s nice to see them not hooked to mom and we get to see their personalities. None of them seem like they can suckle but just hold it until mom says yes. Desirey is sure getting plump. I hope she doesn’t keep going near that cage or she won’t ever be a mom. She likes food to much and I’m afraid she will be the first one. It’s like they never get full. We never just see them not eating.

Oh I wish Dolly wasn’t so near that cage. I’d hate for our girls to feel comfortable with it. I wonder why they still go in there? They pass so much down over the generations, why not the danger of the cage?

Wish there was more for them to eat there. Some trees have berries of sorts, camphor etc. But most of the forna looks inedible. They don't seem too interested in the leaves. I guess they eat bark if they're really hungry. I wonder if any regular feeders get to that part?

I have a question I've always wondered about..When a mother monkey goes into the feeding cage, do they bring the baby a well? Or if a female enters the cage, and has a baby that's older- 6/months that is not with her, do they take the female alone? It would seem that they would let the female and baby go as it may be too traumatic, or if there is an older baby around, how do they keep track and make that decision?

I like Monkeys more than I like humanity, we have such a tendency to ruin anything and everything we touch in the name of progress. It's like we have no care or concern for any other creatures aside from dogs and cats and an occasional bird. I have a flock of very loud parrots, green ones that roam these parts and I can hear them in the distance soon there will be green birds flying, resting on tree limbs and conversing, very loud screeching they certainly know how to make a scene, let their presence be known. Crazy, like 100,000.00$ in a tree sitting there resting, I wonder if they also have alphas? They do seem to stay in a regimented formation, to have a pecking order of sorts, but then again there are also the stragglers too, I'm in California and I often wonder if they are escapees or from the lush forests of the Amazon or some other S. American forest? No borders to contend with for them, just observe the earth from high above and decide where you want to go, land, then take flight again. They are such an uproar these guys, so much to say, they certainly make their presence known, to be sure. you can hear them blocks away, they always stop by my house because I have 65 year old trees, very large and well, I really don't know why actually, considering the backyard tree is a Chinaberry and therefore extremely poisonous, also a very lush and large oleander bush, also poisonous. It is what keeps me from going out of my way to find a little monkey to raise and love. I know better than to entertain this fantasy but I can't help it. I own my home have lots of land am retired with a daughter who would take them when I pass from this world. I would spoil them and love them so much. All of my animals are addicted to me, they follow me everywhere, sleep with me, jump on my shoulders and walk with me, talk to me, play etc. I know, I know, it's just a non sensical burning desire of mine and only a macaque breed no others, I'm extremely particular. I marvel at your acumen and familiarity with these troops, names family members your the greatest! Keep up the great work!!!! Sincerely, Your forever fan!!!
