Yeah, I’m kinda shocked that neither the club or the shield have anything unique. Most one off weapons have unique AoW, and this one is from a boss, who you see use both weapons to do lighting attacks with. Maybe it has something to do with froms(equally weird) decision to tie lighting damage and dexterity, since this is two strictly strength scaling items that would, logically, have a lighting AoW.

That Godskin Duo was an absolute nightmare. Legit thought it might end the run if you ran out of weapons for it. On the plus side, I thought this was a really good run for showcasing what different weapons and ashes of war are capable of. Seems like you really took a liking to Cragblade during the process of doing this.

I was actually sitting on my hands so I didn't backseat, because I had an idea of how you could make it easier on yourself, but you didn't even end up having any trouble with it anyways.

I've been doing a more calmed challenge (i dont worry about time) where my weapons and armor "break" everytime I respawn at a grace (i wanted to give marikas statues some usefulnes) and the feeling of running around with no way to fight decently is dreadful

I can't express how happy I am that my favourite weapon in this game helped with THE WALL. The Flamberge is a surprisingly good weapon for Dex builds, though there are much better options; C scaling in Dex, It's a Greatsword so the stance pressure is decent, decent damager per hit, is surprisingly fast and has innate bleed. Put on any Ash of War with Cold Affinity (either via the Ash or via the Whetblade which can be found in Raya Lucaria) and then you have two % based afflictions on a fairly fast weapon that has decent stance pressure and damage, with the Frost proccing REAL quick, like, 2 or 3 hits quick. Oh, and a bit of magic damage on the side, but it really doesn't matter. I'm not sure if it was just a glitch or what, but the Frost buildup was rated at somewhere over 100, which was kind of insane. In 2 hits I was able to inflict Frostbite on Margit, for a specific example on how quick it Frosted people.

@19:30 If you poison infuse the Super Poison weapons, they actually give you the length of normal poison with the damage of super poison (or at least, once did; maybe this was patched); it's only if you use them normally without an infusion that their version of poison does less damage overall because it lasts less time

The item storage chest is really helpful for quick/hotswapping for any build. Maybe my strength build has a back up greatbow that's heavy and needs to replace a primary weapon, maybe I have a talisman that is useful while exploring but not for bosses, maybe I do coop and need to change my build quickly depending on the boss I get summoned for. Lots of reasons to store items you'll never use.

My favorite use of the storage box is to make sure I can easily swap to rune-increasing equipment after bosses. If I have 4 talismans and I want to use gold scarab quickly after a boss, I need to make sure there are no other talismans in my inventory that would make it slower. It was especially useful in DS3, where I needed to switch to silver serpent, shield of want, and mimic head all right after a boss fight lol

I'm thinking on it (I know someone did a video but I haven't seen it), but I wonder if Pidia/Selivus dies when you give Ranni the Finger(slaying blade) because of Gideon, of all people. The only way to get either the Nepheli or Dolores puppets is after Pidia dies. It's stated in the Dolores puppet description that she is the reason he dislikes Selivus - she was Gideon's friend in the Roundtable Hold. Once Ranni had the blade, she'd be off on her mission and no longer there to protect Selivus, and Gideon could commandeer Pidia's puppets to assassinate him, leaving behind either his friend or his adopted daughter. Gideon's still scum even if that's the case though.

A note about deadly poison: yes it does less damage overall. But it works well with the Kindred of Rot Talisman, which gives you a 20 second buff when applying poison or rot. This means you spend less time with the poison active but the buff not.

Bloodhound Run sounds so sick! Both the Bloodhound’s Fang and Bloodhound’s Claw are SO cool. The follow up attack on finesse, the backflip. Bloodhound’s step looks super cool. It would make a fun build that has a fun game plan. Str/Dex hybrid with Quality affinity would probably make the damage nutty. Love the videos. Hope you’re having a nice day. From what I gather, it's basically one of the only weapons that works well with a "Quality" build. Definitely more Dex focused, but after you hit the soft caps, strength investment pays off

You need a different number of parries to get a riposte for different bosses. For Margit it's two, for Malenia and Morgott it's three. The only boss where it's arguably the best strat is the Crucible Knights, since they only take one parry to open up and the shield guys don't often lower said shield otherwise.

i did this a while ago but with every boss kill! i basically just used every other weapon at +2-5 for most boss fights while using a +10 elenoras poleblade for the entire rest of the game and malenia. it was great. and i only respeced once

god DAMN that Duo wall was nail biting. Personally i would have cheaped out and made it so the weapon only "breaks" after the boss is actually defeated, so for each Godskin I would have just stowed the weapon and consider it allowed for the next attempt. And then delete whichever four weapons were used after the Duo encounter is actually done. But that's infinitely more easy and less interesting so, freaking kudos for sticking to the most anxiety inducinh way anyone could have ever fought the Godskins.

something i read somewhere: in Breath of the wild, you can find an ice scepter and a fire scepter. (or wands, whatever.) they will break quickly if you HIT enemies with them, BUT if you keep your distance and ONLY shoot ice and fire, you can keep using them indefinitely.

Super late but figured I'd help anyone else who wants to use deadly poison weapons. Deadly poison only lasts 30 secs so it does less overall dmg, but can be procced again faster. It also combos perfectly with kindred of rot talisman which gives you a 30 sec buff after a poison proc.

You should give Mogwhyn's spear a shot. It's ash of war made the game easy. melted malenia first try with very little effort. would've been good for this challenge. If you ever want to take a break from one of your crazy challenges, give it a go. it's tough to beat mogwyn to get it as early as possible, but after that it's cake.

You recommend doing this with restricting to one weapon per boss fight and yeah, there's another challenge runner that adds that as a rule to easier challenges regularly and in that form it's much more reasonable.
