Hundreds of Air Commandos at Hurlburt Field traveled to Atlanta on Friday for the funeral of Senior Airman Roger Fortson. Fortson, 23, was killed earlier this month in an Okaloosa County deputy-involved shooting in Fort Walton Beach.

You clearly haven't watched the body cam video. It clearly shows the sister I lying in her accounts of what happened. The pee hole was never covered. The cop was at the apt he was told that there was domestic violence going on at and when the guy opened the door holding a gun, there was only one response the cop could do. Is this tragic, yes? But this isn't on the cop. The lady told him it was this apartment. And why is the guy that got shot answering the door with a gun during the day unless he was into something bad he shouldn't have been not saying he was but even when I answer a door at night to someone I don't know my gun isn't in hand or in site of the person when I open the door your just asking for trouble with gun in hand. I don't think the cop did anything wrong here he was just reacting to the info he was given.

PLT SGT always told us be very careful of the law enforcement off base. I was 3 weeks at the unit brand new PVT. The local police off base got a guy from our unit. Asian kid. Beat his ass for going 5 miles over the speed limit. Threw him (literally) in jail and called the chain of command to pick him up. Saw him Monday morning 1st formation. Dude had a black eye, bruises all over his face and broken ribs. To add insult to injury the unit decided to UCMJ his but. CO grade. Saw this poor guy on extra duty hunched over moping floors and cleaning the Battalion area. I'll never forget that one thing my PLT SGT told me. Stay on the straight and narrow. Be careful going off base both of the locals and law enforcement. And above all else the chain of command will not support you in anything. My intro to the Army.
