@@joshgonia8487 Well, i can't always listen to people, just because they might say something they think is brilliant or insightful or whatever. But i do listen to music; all of it at once, or maybe a little at a time... or just the quiet for a nuanced way to hear a thing, that isn't spoken in words at all. That's where i found it- the hidden meaning of music, which is the story (ies) of all of us, everybody that is, ever was, or will ever be. All highlights or bluntly put, more like the lowlights of my life are in so many songs new and old, that at first i doubted my own sanity, but i shouldn't have worried. I was paying attention to something that was actually there, true to me. I'll add this right here~ if you notice these things yourself and are paying attention to it, don't ever doubt what you hear, and go to the trouble of trusting yourself! Most people will share how full of shit they figure you must be. Ignore those negative types and trust in yourself. I guess that's probably about all i wanted to say. Find your life stories, as they pass through the ether, as they filter across the universe and then through other's interpretive hands & minds, that show you there are great colourings yet to be seen and heard. I came to the Charlotte show this past Tuesday. Me and my best friend showed up at 11am because we wanted to be front and center. When you guys preformed this song last, I weeped. I could understand and relate to the sadness of it. And now reading and hearing the lyrics hits home so much more, I understand now why it made me cry. I love you guys! Right in the feels.staying alive not for yourself but out of the expectation and reliance of others.when you’ve had enough but know the damage you would do the gap you would leave.not that most if any of these people really care about you( other what you can do for them),but because you’re kind,you continue to suffer silently for their benefit and happiness while it slowly destroys you.because your death would destroy them,not directly,they wouldn’t consider that fact,they just see the gaps left and attribute that to an emotional loss.not the self serving loss that it actually is,they never cared about you,only what you could do for them.judge me if you like idgaf ,humanity by and large sucks .

This closing track has a powerful effect, a lighter tune that put the whole playlist in perspective. I felt something similar the first time I heard 'I know the end' by Phoebe Bridgers, the closing track of her sophomore 'Punisher'. I know they are two quite completly different genres, but I am glad good rock/pop music is being done for us sadboys and sadgirls.

This song is so real and brutal... These are the insane thoughts that come out of your broken mind in some periods of your life, when you feel misunderstood, sad and you're depressed... I constantly struggle against anxiety and depression and this song is a stab on my heart but, my Lord, I really can't express in words how I appreciate the vulnerability, the no-hypocrisy and the open-heart speach of this lyric.... Saw this in Pittsburg. The combo of the last three songs from the concert absolutely obliterated me. I had such an emotional reaction that I had a panic attack part way through this song. For maximum devastation, I think it works best if you listen to ghost then this one

damn. this song really hits close to home. And I totally get this feeling, wondering who would show up, who would care and miss you, who would finally feel bad and realize their mistakes. Like would my mom finally apologize for all the abuse and realize how much pain she caused? the saddest part is that thing never go the way we fantasize. People move on with their lives and it doesn't even matter that much. Just remember, you touch so many more lives by being alive and making the music that you do. People relate to that. They find solace and catharsis in it. You're helping people without even realizing it

I saw them in Pittsburgh a few days before the album and this song came out. It was so quiet as everyone was listening to the lyrics and you could feel the emotion in the air. But then when Josh sang “So much here to keep myself alive.” People started cheering so so loudly and Josh gave a small smile but it said so much. It was such a moving moment it made me cry. Just having everyone cheering and celebrating choosing to live was really beautiful.

Hey Josh, I know there's a very small chance you'll actually read this, but in case you do: please do not follow through with these thoughts; don't let them lie to you and tell you what's wrong is right. People do care about you, even if it's hard to believe right now. You said in the song people would care because you'll be 'that famous kid who died', but that's not why I'll care- I'll weep for the lost future; I'll weep for your family and friends; I'll weep for the suffering that you're going through; and I'll weep for you- not just because I love your music, but because you're a person and every person deserves a chance to live their life free of mental turmoil. I know others here would agree with me... Also, you mentioned that your death would create a media buzz and boost the stats- while that is true, you won't be here to enjoy it, and I'm sure your friends, bandmates and family would rather have you here than a few more dimes in their bank account or a few more listeners on Spotify- ask them yourself, they'll tell you this. Finally, you mentioned in the last verse that you have no right to be hurting because others are hurting worse- this is in no way true. Everyone goes through their own issues in life, and suffering isn't a competition. Your struggles are valid, they don't make you weak or whiny, and you deserve help even if others may need it more at the moment.
