I think a bit like Salah, he hasn’t been right since coming back in January. As players get older these tournaments take more and more out of them. Has to be Van De Ven for me. Very impressed with Romero since coming back from the Chelsea suspension. Udogie and Porro good. Midfielders so disappointing. Maddison had started so well up to his injury. Kulusevski was good until Xmas. Johnson so inconsistent and better from the bench. Son has to play left to create as gets little service as striker. Richy had a good spell. Injured too much and still can’t trust him. We do need someone better even if he stays and competes.

If we can get elite wingers, Son will work as the striker. If we don’t he has to play wide, or we won’t create any chances

Among many merits of Son, one has to appreciate his health level. I don't remember Son ever had muscle related injury through his career. He pays utmost attention to maintain his condition.

Brennan has 3rd worst record of big chance conversion this season in Premier League with -6.4. The crux (60%) of his misses were created by Son. Maddison and Kulu also missed bunch big chances created by Son as well. Son is top big chance creator, 20, 4th in Premier league, with total 68 chances created followed by Maddison 66. Who in this team has been creating for Son? He is also the one who has the least of chances created by teammates among all strikers in PL with one of the highest conversion to goal ratio. Son has been marked by 2-3 defenders at any time allowing others to be open. Son probably is the only one who is not being respected with 17 goals and 10 assists season. 27 point contribution in 35 games played. Short term memory?. By the way, career most chance creator for Tottenham is Son with 317 with second place is Kane with 177. Just imagine 68 chances created for Kane instead of Brennan, Kulu, and Maddison?

I second to this. Son also received the highest score in the degree of defensive participation of strikers who play in 30 professional soccer leagues around the world. What does this suggest? He has been trying to fill up the gaps of other players, which at times meant he was missing in the final third. We need to respect him for what he does for the team in the shadow. We need better players that can really support him concentrate on what he is best at.

Biggest regression was PEH, he was a top quality to elite level cdm/cm for a top 4 side and he hasn’t looked anything like himself this season. If you ask me I think a combination of the fan abuse he unjustly received all last season and reduced role this season both contributed to his massive drop off. Last season PEH was very very good despite fans myth belief that he was terrible

I was a big fan of Bissouma at Brighton and thought we made a great signing. Start of this season I thought he was going to continue. But from that dumb performance against Luton with the red card, he never looked right after. Jogging back against Wolves. Being over indulgent on the ball against Man City the season before. Not sure why he has regressed with us, but his passing and shooting aren’t good enough for me. It’s such a vital position. I would not be sad for him to go. Hojberg and Lo Celso likely to go too. Feel sorry for Lo Celso as when finally staying fit, he got no decent minutes off the bench and looked good in 10 mins he was on the pitch. Hojberg did so well off the bench, but when he started the deficiencies showed and physically he isn’t strong enough any more. He could do well in another league.

Bissouma biggest regression for me! Skipp & Hojbjerg have never been great in ideal circumstances and never looked to fit Ange's style. Biss went from the definition of the style, to dead weight 😳

I don’t understand the Hojbjerg hate. Every time I’ve seen him play he seems to bring creativity and intensity. The strikes me as a captain and everyone wants to get rid of him. I must be missing something.

Intensity? Absolutely! I don't know about the creativity though. He mostly keeps it safe and goes sideways. Once in a while he will show some of it but it's not enough in the Ange system. Much more valuable in a Mou or Conte team

Skipp pre injury form is the biggest myth and bullshit ever. He was shit before that injury and was never particularly good or promising after that Norwich loan. I knew before that injury he was never going to be good enough. That ac Milan game he was good which surprised me I never thought he would be that level but that’s about it that level still isn’t what we need. He’s not good enough and never has been or could’ve been. Sarr ran the show at Sam siro and skipp got the credit

@CeoNiTe outside of those numbers though he offers nothing in general play and can't keep the ball. He's the exact opposite of Kulu, unfortunately neither fit our system.

I think its unfair bc he rarely got service at the no9 position. Also we cant rely on him to break down low blocks, which proved to be our kryptonite. Thats Madd and GLCs job

@@shyofshyness totally agree it's unfair. Also not his fault Klinsmann ran him into the ground on national duty. Still can't put him player of the year though when looking at his overall performance though.

It seems like that's the general impression, yet his numbers are still near elite: 27 contributions in 35 appearances is nothing to sniff at. And we know he can do so much more!
