For weddings on the low end as a guest, I would suggest sharp day wear, Blue or green Argyle jacket & weskit or step it up with a Charcoal or black tweed Argyle jacket and weskit with black leathers will show a higher level of respect. DO NOT CROSS STREAMS with Saxon and Highland wear! This will make you look horrible in any venue. On the High end, PC's only if you are a Groom or Groom's Man. Plaid Fly only if you are instructed to, or if it is part of the "assigned the costume of the day." The Plaid Fly is usually reserved for the groom only to set him apart as the Groom. Hose should be solid colors either black, white or a minor color in your kilt. Remember; WEDDING RULE#2; NEVER UP-STAGE THE GROOM OR HIS BRIDE by out-dressing them! This is one time where a peacock ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT be appreciated! Incase you were wondering, WEDDING RULE #1; is DON'T PISS OFF THE BRIDE! What do you think guys? Am I on point with this?

My younger daughter is getting married in October. The groom and his family are Creek Tribal citizens and some of the Creek ladies will be wearing their tribal ribbon dresses, particularly the groom's mother will be in full formal Creek attire. As a counter,, my daughter has asked her family men wear Highland kit. She wants me, as Father of The Bride, to be in FULL kit with fly plaid, dirk, and military miniatures. This is going to be the most culturally fashion-forward wedding ever LOL

Some times you have said wearing military medals with the kilt. What is the general views on wearing the Class a jacket and shirt with the Airforce tartan? That would be pushing the three piece rule, but not braking it. Or how have you heard to do that type of theme.?

Personally speaking - if I ever see someone in a kilt and something is not right, I will help them immediately if they allow me. Same goes for anyone who is dressed up or not...lend a hand to your fellow man. ;)
