I just read the ingredients of the fruit wash and it definetly does more than just water (its a very, very mild soap). I personally wouldn't use it on cut open fruit/veggies. I would use it on unopened/uncut fruit (which they actually recomend on their website), but i would still heavily rinse it after worth. The ingredients are natural and technically edible but if you consume it regularly (which will happen if you spray it on cut open fruit and let it sit there) it could lead to health issues. To add: I think it is funny they wrote 98% all natural, which a) you could write on anything since everything comes from nature and b) 98% is probably the amount of water in it. If it was 98% natural water and 2% cyanide it would still kill you.

On the fruit spray: Mix 9 parts water with 1 part vinegar, let the fruit sit in it for a moment, then wash off. The vinegar is so diluted, you won't taste it even without rinsing. It's probably way cheaper than the spray, and kills bacteria and bugs better than just water. Also, I personally wash the fruit before cutting (I feel like it washes out the taste otherwise).

And if you do use a fruit wash, make sure to check the ingredients listed so you’re not spraying your veggies with unnecessary ingredients/other chemicals. But definitely love fruit washes/vinegar rinses! It really helps! There’s a food science paper that basically said there’s no statistical difference between using a food spray, using vinegar and water, and just using water at removing bacteria. Not necessary for getting fruit clean, at most it will just remove fruit’s natural wax layer. So not necessary as long as you just rinse with water! But if you like it then that’s fine too!
