What a fun episode! Really cool remix of sneaker designs. It really does grow on you. I think the colourway is the reason why it feels like that. The volt is just so striking, that it causes a dissonance. But eventually makes people fond of it.

Honestly I kind of had a feeling these would impress a LOT of people. Saw them in hand and purchased. just like that. Then I saw them selling out almost all places that had em.. you said it right ... "They're so ugly that they're beautiful" ... lol and surprisingly comfortable to me 🤷🏾‍♂️

As someone who goes back to the 70's with Nike, and had the original Waffle Trainers and the Waffle Racers, I thought long and hard about getting a pair of these. I passed, and now I'm kinda wishing that I hadn't. Oh well, not like I needed another pair of shoes....lol. Nice story about how you guys met.😊

I’m a nurse so I’m on my feet for majority of my 12 hour shift and I wear all of my sneakers and these were surprisingly comfortable. I’m usually dying to take my kicks off after lunch but they weren’t bad at all.

The waffle front is quite sketchy due to the TN heel, you can roll the front because of the rounded outsole. But it’s comfy

QOTD: You two are great! (Phantom "sold out" for sure. Manufactured FOMO strikes again.) On the one hand, this is a cool idea and the shoe looks good. I like that homage is being paid to two important designs from Nike's history. I like that you're impressed with the materials and the quality, since that's been a glaring weakness lately. On the other hand, however, taking a sneaker from the early 1970s and "modernizing" it with state-of-the-art cushioning technology from the late 1990s is a hard sell to me in the middle of the 2020s, because if I buy them, I'm going to want to put them on my feet at some point. This is not the only pair of Nikes where cushioning is a huge weakness, given how big a portion of their business the retro market is. I think they desperately need to find a way to modernize the feel of visible Air, while retaining the original look. Thanks for the review! I did my part for the algorithm and I'll see you again soon.
