I watch James Whitner podcasts. He explained the back story and inspiration of the Jordan 2. The A Ma Maniere Jordan 1 and 2 was originally supposed to release as a pack but more so the Jordan 2 could be more highlighted. But Covid played a part in that so it was separate releases. That’s why the 2s have pretty much the exact same details as the jordan 1s

Edit: I think the way they released it as 3,1,2 is a nod to Chicago's area code which is 312. Which apparently there is an Air Jordan Legacy 312 lows. They could've at least used the dreamcel for that ridiculous price. I like the shoe as a display piece, cuz it kinda looked like snow boots on feet. Awesome review 👏 👌

These definitely look different from any other 2's that I've owned, including the Union 2's. I passed on these because I just wasn't feeling them like the 1's and the 3's. Love this shoe and I’m glad that I was able to grab a pair for retail. I’d rank this collection 3-1-2. Just a thought 💭 312 is one of Chicago’s area codes which is why they may have released them in that order.

I remember around 10 years ago I bought the Jordan 2.0’s in wolf grey. The only difference was the 360 air unit instead of the solid midsole they normally are. Was a pretty comfortable and decent looking shoe. The wolf grey 2.0’s remind me a lot of the AMM2’s of you squint really hard 😂

I don't love crack leather, I don't love snake print and I don't love 2s but I love these sneakers. I'm 50/50 with the 1s so I likely won't go back for them but the 3s and these 2s are my favorites from each particular model (I never hit on the black cements so they fall below thee AMM 3s).

Some interesting rumors on why they released the way they did. 312 - Chicago area code 312 - the suppose 1st retro release back in 94/95. With the 3s being the first, then 1s, follow by the 2s. Rumor has it the at 4s are next, which would also mean the 4th retro(1999)

Thanks for another amazing video. As far as the AMM order, I heard someone say that it was to match Chicago’s area code (312). Not sure if that’s true, but MAN, do I love these 2s. I am an Air Jordan 2 superfan, and this is the only 2 collab released recently that I actually like. And in my mind, it’s the best of the AMM Jordans. Better than the 3s (which I love), and way better than the 1s.

I have the 3s and 1s and have no interest in owning these.. and im not opposed to 2s as I have a few pairs.. but the sole on these ruined them for me, looks like a heel on a dress shoe, once I saw that I couldn't unsee it, and it completely ruined the shoe for me as I did want them prior to that realization.

@@Deasnuts1 Maybe the reasons why you don’t like them are some of the reasons I do. The 2 was meant to be a luxury basketball shoe; this shoe captures the spirit of that, IMO. I also love the AMM 3s. I just like these better. I couldn’t care less about the 1s, honestly.

A Ma Maniere all about the story telling. cracked leather to represent 'concrete' I believe, and maroon for bloodlines. perhaps the order of release was to represent '312' area code of chicago?

That's literally my favourite thing about this shoe, it really doesn't even look like J2 from a distance, the white on the outsole of the shoes ends and goes black makes it look like a the shoe has heel and I LOVE IT, the Doc Marten comparison LOVE IT, I think only the selective few will really admire this for what it truly is but hey to each their own, IK I can't afford these nonetheless, great video as always big love from Lisbon & London!

So I’ve had 2s since early 2000’s and think they are so underrated. The two has always been one of the most confortable Jordans IMO . Just got my Ma maniere pair in and the materials are great , just need the Chicago’s and J balvins and I’m straight 😎

I like the color blocking but I'm not a fan of the cracked thing. I'd prefer if it was normal leader or suede. So far, the best Jordan II released are the off white ones. I'm counting the days left to october for the release of the "OG Chicago". They'd be a great birthday present.

Wry nice looking shoe. Can’t remember exactly when but Jordan came out w/a 1-1/2. Classic 1 Jordan top and 2 bottom. Materials on top were so cheap except maybe the bucks pair but the 2 bottom on that shoe is soooooo comfortable. Again good looking shoe here and great video👊

I have all 3 and I would say 3s win by far. They're the most cohesive and premium feeling. The 2s look better in hand but I would say they tie with the 1s, probably due to both having that cracked leather.

Reason they started with the J3 A Ma Maniere then J1 and lastly J2 was because of the Chicagos area code(312). That’s what I heard. But who really knows. Also love your videos. You guys help me make my decisions when buying Jordan’s. Thanks and keep up the great work you guys do. Thanks again.

312 is the Chicago area code, the Don C Legacy 312 said it was a shout-out to MJ's Chicago area so maybe that's why they released the 3 first, then the 1 and the 2.

Shoe of the year contender in my opinion. 1.2.3 based on frequency of wear 3,2,1 based on look, but I see them as a pack. Can’t wait for the 4’s. Lastly 2’s historically haven’t followed the purpose of the original design. Materials are usually plastic. These follow a narrative the 2’s should have received historically which was luxury. The last GR 2’s w/ great materials in my opinion was the candy pack…

I know for sure the cracking leather is a reference to late 80s-mid 90s nike shoes that has cracking on certain parts of the shoe. Not sure if it was the paint they used but for sure it has to be a direct reference.

I agree. Cool shoe but the midsole is clunky. I don’t like the seam at the toe and heel too where the two pieces of snakeskin meet. Looks sloppy at least on my pair IMO. I like the Union collab better in hand. I’ll be letting these go in favor of the Unions even though I really thought these were going to win out.
