Bro.. that is so crazy, It was very similar for me, my bday is 2 weeks prior to Christmas so I get bonus Christmas usually. The 64 just dropped and my mom was telling me that nobody had it and to choose something different.. Bro.. OMG! I remember Christmas morning, she had me open 2 games (wave race 64 and Mario 64) and she said she had a systen arriving in 2 months on back order. 2 minutes later she then pulled a 64 out the closet and i literally sh@t a brick. Christmas of 1996 my dad bought me a Sega Saturn for Christmas with rayman as my game to play. I was 4 years old. It’s crazy that I remember. He pulled it down from the top of our bathroom closet. It meant so much because I didn’t expect it because they said that they couldn’t afford to buy us stuff that year and my little brother was just born. This past Halloween was 4 years since we lost him. RIP pops.

My best gift was in 1989. I was 13 and it was the military blue jordan 4"s. Funny story I wanted the bread 4's. I got them and didn't know. They were already under the tree and during x-mass break my dad took us to the mall as I walked by foot locker and I saw a diffrent color way the military blues so I ran over to them and was all excited to see a different color way. My dad took it as I liked them more. So he exchanged them for those. I was still very happy x-mass morning unwrapping and seeing that iconic jordan box. My mom is the one who told me what he did exchanging the black cement for the military blue. It worked out for me because I was the only person at school with that color way. Kids flipped out over them. My dad was a great and loving father that would do anything for his 5 kids like spend 110.00 dollars on one pair of shoes. We were poor by the way and he had 4 other kids to buy gifts for. My dad is no longer with us so that memory is very special to me. Love you dad rest in peace you will always be in my heart R.W.C.

Missed out on the recent "shock drop" for I did not see the notification. Ugh. But, hoping to score at least one, hopefully two. As for the "Nike Box" and "Air Jordan" box situation, my original Air Jordan 11 "Columbia" models came in the "Air Jordan" box but, my original Air Jordan 11 "Bred" models came both the "Nike Box" and "Air Jordan" box which I still have. I owned the 2001 and 2014 Air Jordan 11 XI "Columbia" a.k.a. "Legend Blue" retros but, have since sold them a while back. My best childhood gifts were the original Kenner "Raiders of the Lost Ark" action figures, playsets, and vehicles and first wave of the Kenner DC Comics "Super Powers" action figures, playsets, and vehicles. which I still own to this day.

My favorite gift from when I was a kid is tough. I’d probably go with the original NES, but it’s been so long that sadly, I don’t really remember the amount of joy I had getting that. Same goes for the Castle Greyskull playset. I had a whole bunch of He-Man action figures and probably played with them for hours in my parents living room. The one toy that I do remember the endless joy from was the SNES. I remember playing Donkey Kong every single day after Christmas until winter vacation was over. Then came all the Madden games. I played them endless once I realized you could unlock historic rosters by winning the Super Bowl with different teams in different difficulty levels.

I hid it from both my parents and on Christmas morning I acted as if Santa Placed it on our kitchen table. Though I grew out of believing Santa drops gifts off when I was 3. I thought I’d give my parents a moment where they felt I believed he did.

It could do air hockey, ping pong and pool. The table was very small so it wasn’t like a real pool table or ping pong table but we were young and it was big enough for us kids. We got so much use out of that thing, everyone in our neighborhood would get down on some games for what seemed like years. Great memory. Best QOTD in awhile.
