I have lived here all my life, we do get a fair amount of rain in the late fall and spring. Spring can be all over the place, warm one day then cool and rainy. June is much warmer than it use to be and Summer temperatures are often over 30 degrees Celsius and humid but lovely along the coast. We have beautiful fall weather and I have been able to swim in a lake into September. All of the beaches I have swam in run between 18 to 21 degrees in August. That includes Queensland right up to clam harbour and some of the beaches in the Northumberland straight are warmer. And yes a umbrella won't do you much good on the coast on a windy day

Weather is all right. It's true that spring could have been earlier though it's very variable at that time especially in Cape Breton where it snows and then gives nice temperatures in March and near flurries one day then up in the teens in April and late in the month sometimes more and stuff and where May can go from near snow on some days to almost hot on others all in the same month. Halifax is still very variable though and not that different. The south shore is less all over the place but it misses out on really warm days especially far down on it due to fogs and breezes. The summer though cooler on coasts is still warm and muggy enough. It's actually good that NS got some Labrador current otherwise it might have been unbearably muggy a lot of the year like much of the United States and its relieving it's actually not too hot like some places are
