Weather Report - "Barbary Coast"
In the 1960s, rock, funk and blues melded together to create a unique sound known as fusion jazz. In the following decades, musicians continued to bring their own flair to the genre. A small ensemble from the Marine Band takes the stage to show how fusion jazz continued to evolve through the work of groups like Weather Report and Sting, as well as musicians Miles Davis and Quincy Jones. This performance was part of the Marine Bands 2020 summer concert series.
