My brother & I had just seen them at Lenox, MA on the grass near Tanglewood, and made sure we were there at Lincoln Center for this. Both bands were groundbreaking, led by veterans of Miles Davis innovative bands, and were themselves about to explode in popularity!

OK, it's a blueprint of "Madagascar"! This segues into "Socurocu". The melodies in this concert are being treated very sparse and freely.

Saw WR at least a dozen times between 1971 and 1982. Absolutely one of the best live acts ever. Each iteration of the band was incredible and to these ears the recordings sound fresh and engaging all these years later.

@@monsterjazzlicks People like that always forget the "IMHO" letters before making statements like this. A typical YT response form someone who thinks their negative opinion is somehow worth reading on a post obviously for people who love WR. I had an exchange about this with a guy who was posting "Wayne Shorter Sucks" videos-I actually saw he changed his titles to "Why I think..." which is valid if your gonna try to make your claim bolstered by reasons, clips, sound bites, etc. But to make a 2 word slap at something that is 1: 50 years old, 2. an obviously influential band is just lazy, uninformed, and pointless.
