Weatherby Live Wild Rifle + Leupold Mark 4HD

Kevin went out to the range to dial in and test out the new Weatherby Live Wild rifle, designed in partnership with Remi Warren. We also took the opportunity to get a sense of the new Leupold Mark 4HD and do some first focal practice.

Okay man I was shopping for a new rifle now I plan on getting this in .270win. I hunt a ton of strip mines and rough crappy terrain. Putting a Swaro on top. Do you think I’ll need the brake? Great review watched it twice

Awesome to hear! The brake is nice for a variety of reasons - recoil, sound direction, etc. But I wouldn't say it's entirely necessary to keep it on. This 6.5 RPM has a super unique and fairly loud bark, so it's no joke with the brake. A good suppressor would be ideal for either!

A 124 Hammer or Barnes is not too light for elk at those velocities.

Good to hear. I’ve been on the fence and have heard mixed things from a couple guys who’ve used the 124gr hammers.

@@bigkevygI’ve used them in my 264 mag and 6.5 PRC and they shoot great and put the Hammer on deer. There was one KZbinr who was constantly putting down Hammer bullets but the funny thing is he never shot any game with them. Just ballistic gel and it was a poor test. I’ve also used them in 7mm and 270 calibers. No complaints. Cheers bro!
