Good info. I have an S20 in the hunter version and it's been flawless, as well as quite accurate in the 6 years I've had it. Been pondering the MkV in a different configuration for some time now and am sure I'll "pull the trigger" on one before long. Thanks for the reviews.

One point people dont know about weatherby is they chanber and throat long and dont allow any handloader to load to the lands in their rifles. To achieve this they make the feeding path to short to load past book OAL. I learned this when both my rifles couldnt be loaded closer than 180 thousandths from lands and still feed. This is for ALL weatherby mark V rifles.

I have the SAKO S20 in 7mm Rem Mag. No complaints! Got my cow elk a week ago at 407 yards. Right on the money!!

Nice rifles. It's bolt lift of 54 and 60 degrees. Throw is the back and forward motion of the bolt.

Strange I picked up a weatherby vanguard sporter having issues with extraction too. Bolt lift is easy but brass sticks to the point of beating on the bolt.

​. Take a mop the size of your chamber put it in a drill and jewlers polish on it n polish your chamber for 15 ta 30 seconds on slow speed. Exact same thing a gunsmith will do and charge ya 250$. Takes 5min and ya can't fuck it up as long as your not Mr bean w tools n got common sense

When you buy a weatherby you are supporting modern day market hunters like Meateater and Hushin who profit off of point creep and make it harder than ever to get tags and ruin public land hunting. No thanks! The Sako is a better rifle anyways

If you think Steve promotes point creep you dead wrong. He’s playing the same game we all have to if we wanna hunt. Don’t mention the massive donations he makes opening public land access for all of us as well. Iv got a half dozen Weatherby rifles that will work that Sako in absolutely every category.

I'm not a fan of Steve either, but weatherby supports a lot of good causes, and are American made. I would bet you're supporting a lot worse by sending your money to Finland.
