LOL! How can you concentrate with that ridiculous show playing in the background?? Hahaha. Phenomenal work! Absolutely love it. And thanks for including the most satisfying part. You know what I mean.

I love that you take the approach of your engines to look like work horse. No time for a bath got to keep hauling down the line. I love the used and rust bucket look I just feel like that is what reality is.

Cheers bro I appreciate that! Yeah ive always been a fan of that type of look, even with my layout you can gaurantee theres gonna be graffiti, bad roads, cracked concrete, weathered buildings, all things neglected!! Cheers for stopping by bro 😊🤙💯

can maskol be place on body panels also? like the nose or cab roof if youre doing a different color, or does it only bond to the acrylic windows?
@TheSteelRoad2 жыл бұрын
Yeah dude it can be applied to pretty much any surface, the only tricky part will be getting neat crisp edges on what your applying it to
@splitrock3233 жыл бұрын
Very nice. How do you like the Humbrol Liquid mask?
@TheSteelRoad3 жыл бұрын
Cheers man! Yeah i love it hey, it dose a really good job theres no leaking of paint around the edges and is so much quicker to apply compared to masking tape. I definitely reccomend it 😎

Just getting started in this, great video! Are the paints acrylic and then you do an enamel wash?
@TheSteelRoad3 жыл бұрын
Cheers Paul, yeah mate all acrylic paints on this one. I do the enamel wash last as acrylic paint dosnt always bond well to an enamel surface. 😎👍

Nice, Are you diluting the Vallejo paints and if so by how much? also what pressure are you airbrushing at? Thanks !
@TheSteelRoad3 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, na no dilution these paints are 'Vallejo Game Air' designed for airbrushing so they come thinned and I run the pressure on about 25 PSI 🤙
@thepoo12343 жыл бұрын
Do you have any recommendations as far as the ratio of paint to thinner goes? I'm also curious what pressure you use when you airbrush the fade coat. Whenever I've tried to use an airbrush to fade my trains, it tends to come out splotchy.
@TheSteelRoad3 жыл бұрын
I dont use thinner dude, these vallejo Air paints are made for airbrushing so they come ready for spraying and as for the pressure I run between 15 and 25 psi. Splotchy spraying can be caused by low psi, thick paint or a blocked nozzle, my best advice is to always flush with water after each spray man, it dosnt take much to block an airbrush
@thepoo12343 жыл бұрын
@@TheSteelRoad Thanks for the advice! I'm just getting into airbrushing. I'm used oils in the past for fading on locos, but the amount of time it takes for them to dry is a pain. I definitely think airbrush is the way to go for quick, easy fading. I just need to get better at it.
@TheSteelRoad3 жыл бұрын
@@thepoo1234 no worries dude happy to help! Yeah oils are good but im hearing ya about the dry time its too long! Keep practising at it dude and it will become second nature 😎🤙

What did you put on the windows?
@TheSteelRoad2 жыл бұрын
Its a masking fluid by Humbrol, basicly a liquid latex that can be brushed on to protect against over spray then its simply peeled off

You weathered this locomotive with the trucks on and removed them on the first and weathered those separate. Is there any particular reason why you did that or was it just the way you felt like doing it? Very good looking weathering on this one and the first one you showed. Good video. Stay well. -Wil 👍
@TheSteelRoad3 жыл бұрын
This is a second hand loco and the previous owner had super glued the trucks on so I was unable to remove them, and the reason for the masking tape was my first coat was a fade and I diddnt want to get white overspray on them, cheers mate 😎👍
