@@realtalkrecordsuk I remember you guys from the 90’s, I was and still am a huge fan of your work. My life changed massively by 2000 and I stopped listening to and being a part of my local hip hop scene. I needed to go inwards and sort myself out. I followed a particular path and 24 years later, I’m here chatting to you, feeling more relaxed in my own skin than ever, my demons are my favourite teachers, they show me when I’m not aligned. We all have the potential to heal, it’s the ability to turn and look at yourself, feel what we are holding and over time release. Love that your back and your message has light in it. Breathe easy brother

Always a very beautiful and elegant way you observe/express the state of these unfortunate times. Our forefathers are definitely watching upon us, waiting for us to get it together (literally) and mature. We have all been robbed of our history/heritage, no matter what corner of the earth. Once we are able to truly love ourselves they can no longer play us against each other. And once we start abandoning fear, envy and hate as a crutch, they can no longer convince us to be our own worst enemy. They cant rob us of the truth when it ultimately resides inside of us. They can only use their sleight of hand to distract us, but you'll always run smack dab into the truth, no matter how far you get mislead. I find myself running from all kinds of things all the time, just like the next man, and I've realized I always end up stumbling and tripping face first into a puddle of truth eventually. I believe we're bound to collectively come to some sort of realisation and understanding, one way or another. You cant distract us from the power of true love and understanding, when love is the fabric we have been woven out of. Thank you for your powerful words. Nothing but love and respect Chester, wish you all the best

That was a Most incredible Message thank you brother. Very touching words. And you’re right in my eyes at least. Love is the only truth. We can call it many things but love is the fabrics we are all cut from …. Have a good evening 💚🙏

@@realtalkrecordsuk Chester, I hear you referencing alot of themes/subjects in your lyrics that i believe we have a shared interest in. So with that said i wanna share something with you: Im from Finland and my pops' side of the family comes from carelia/karjala. I've been reading about the old ways and traditions, whaterever little tidbits of information there still is to find. There's an abundance of tradition and knowledge when it comes to singing and the spoken word. One of the most personally moving concepts i discovered was the tradition of "wailing". When there's an individual who's going through pain and hardship people gather around eachother in a cypher. This could be family, friends, whoever; members of your tribe or community essentially. So lets say a member of the community has lost a loved one. The objective is to sing in unison, to invoke the "negative" emotion out of the individual. You'll have a traditional song/spell that deals with this specific situation. The song's melody and harmony will resonate and reflect the pain of loss. The cypher proactively invites ced person to bring the pain to the surface and cry outloud, so that the rest can join in. Everyone singing will get swept up in the emotion through empathy, and so it becomes a shared experience. This way the whole community can share the pain. So you gather up the village in support of the individual, because the individuals are what makes up the village. Then you simply sing and cry together. You go through the motions as a unit. This way the energy of overbearing pain will alchemically be transformed into a strong sense of community, belonging and togetherness. A very powerfull negative energy gets transformed and utilized as an even more powerful, positive and healing energy. By simply being together, being transparent and vulnerable, they managed to weld their community even more strong, functional, seamless, and unified. The bottom line is you must show oneanother that you can't be ashamed of hurt/pain. It truly is something to be shared, because we all have to live with it. So it is something we must deal with, and work through together. We as humans tend to hide and push down our negative emotions and insecurities. I guess we're often fooled to consider pain a weakness. So we tend to let it fester in ourselves, and we struggle carrying all that weight alone. I would suggest its even being weaponized against us. This eventually ends up reflecting on the whole community, making everyone suffer for no reason. If you have a handful of hours of daylight, and nothing but a whole lot of work to do in order to survive, you cant afford to have a friend or neighbour feeling down. It will lead to everyones demise. This is broadly speaking the situation we're in, even in these modern times. You can look at the situation on a local scale or a global scale. In my eyes it applies to our state of affairs regardless. Now this was just one example from my own culture, but I feel pretty confident in saying that we'll find numerous similar traditions in other cultures globally. Infact thats what anthropology would suggest. These traditions shouldnt be considered just as traditions in the superficial sense. I think they were historically considered to be more like technologies amongst all of our ancestors. Imagine them looking down at us as we swallow chemicals pressed into pill form. Or work dozens of hours just so we can sit down for one hour with a stranger that will professionally listen. I wonder what our ancestors are thinking of all this mess. We might be technologically advanced in blowing eachother into a bloody mist, but when it comes to working with love, we are very juvenile. Anyways, you have a good evening yourself brother and thank you for everything. Stay strong

It's me that should be and is grateful. I just checked out the community page. I've only had time to read the most recent out - about the weaver. Both Weathering The Storm and that gave me feeling I get when I know I just been exposed to real art and I don't get it that often. Some of you hip-hip work has done. Mic Righteous does it to me but in a different way. Put crudely, I feel you are more philosophical and he is more raw emotion. Not to say you don't have emotion and his can't be philosophical. I hope you get what I mean I'm not as good with words as you are. To me, and I know this is totally subjective, real art is something created by someone for self-expression that hits me some way that I can't define but is unmistakable, usually created by someone who has no choice - they have to create. For example,I have a mate who is a labourer but when he's not labouring, he's in his lockup painting - always. Every now and then, he just chucks a load of stuff away that I think was amazing. When I first asked him why he chucked it, cos I just could not believe it (not being an artist myself), he just said, "It is doesn't represent who I am anyone. I don't want anyone to see it." He only ever sells a piece when he needs cash - he does it just because has to. That is a true artist, IMO. I don't know you personally, but you seem to be someone who just has to create for self-expression. Money may be nice, but that's not the aim of the game. All the best, Chris
