Violent Tornado Outbreak rips across portions of Iowa once again. This tornado was near Carbon to Corning Iowa as we watched houses get completely swept clean as we went into Search and Rescue mode. Thankfully, everyone heeded the warning and took shelter!

As a chaser myself, thanks for stopping. Hope no one was hurt in that house. I saw a video posted on another channel a week ago, the chaser didn't stop, and past several homes and structures that sustained severe damage. Their excuse for not stopping was they weren't EMT's and wanted to keep filming. I commented on their video in essence that's bs. Often, We are usually the closest people to damage paths Long before emergency services can arrive. I don't know anyone chasing who wouldn't stop and see if they can help. Good to see chaser's out there still care about the people, more than about the shot.

I don't think getting out of the car, running straight toward some downed power lines a minute after they just got knocked down and hopping over them was such a good idea. Luckily they were not energized, the power was probably interrupted before the tornado hit the wires. You don't even have to step on the wire to get zapped. The wet ground all around it can be deadly to step on. That's why they tell you if you're in your car and one falls on you or near you then don't touch anything metal and don't get out of the car, even if you see what looks like a clear walking path around the wire.

This tornado killed multiple people in the town of Greenfield Iowa. Actual number will be released in the morning. State patrol said all were accounted for with dozens injured and multiple deaths. The hospital was directly hit as well as a care center next to it. The hospital is not usable and was evacuated. Teams will determine the severity of the damage tomorrow. Likely a total loss. Another tornado that went by the town of Nevada IA barely missed the city. It was traveling at a staggering 80-90 mph. My husband’s family all live there and none were hit. But homes were totaled as well.

@@HaveAHeartAnimalSanctuary Yep, they happen in AZ too. I live in northern AZ near Prescott. We had a small short lived tornado in July of 2016. True tornado with ground to cloud contact, not an overgrown dust devil. When I was a teen, Mesa, AZ was hit by a high end F1 tornado that took out an Arizona Feed store, Kenny's Burgers, and a few homes had damage. I and some friends riding bikes saw the whole thing. That was in 1971. As a kid we lived in Dearborn Heights, MI, and I went through 2 F2 tornadoes 2 years apart. Home alone, both parents at work, and I was on summer vacation. Our house and many others lost roofs. I'll never forget that. (Jan Griffiths).

Dude, stepping within inches of those at least 13kv power lines on wet ground freaked me out more than anything. There is a good chance they were still live! And flipflops?? If you are putting yourself in situations where you're likely to be trying to help someone in a mess of debris, man just be more prepared. Get yourself at least some lightweight hiking boots.

With 13kv in Canada 3 meters is the minimum safe arc distance suggested, 150kv is 4.5 meters and 250kv 6 meters. Not sure on the USA but I would assume it's close to the same.

He apparently need some training on down power lines and step potential or he won’t chase storms much longer

I've always noticed storm chasers never to seem to anticipate when a chase ends in a search and rescue. Years ago I remember Reed Timmer climbing in rubble in flip flops (the show Storm Chasers). I keep waiting to see a nail in a foot at the end of a video. Or in this case electrocution. 🤨

He was on adrenaline. He’s even out seeing who needs help when the tornado was still on the ground!

@@beausmith08 Live high voltage power lines don't care about adrenaline. And accidentally kicking a piece of wood or metal wth flipflops in that debris could take him out as a potential responder. Just saying, taking a step back for better situational awareness would only help everyone involved. Look at how actual rescue crews operate.

Recently my family and I survived a direct hit from a tornado and I can tell you that the vidio does not capture the mind freezing terror of being ran over by one of these monsters. The shock afterwards was unreal. I was helpless to save my family under unimaginable power. Fortunately for us we were all spared from being sucked out into the deafening dark HELL that was all around us. Pure terror. Get out of the way. Do not stay.

I watched that from afar on the radar yesterday. Given the radar presentation, I'm surprised the tornado was as clearly seen as this one was. I expected anything to be wrapped up in rain. Looks like you were in good position to see!
