Despite it being a balmy 5° here this morning, I am now more confident that a summer is approaching the Wellington region. I know this because the phenomenon that normally begins in late October, has finally begun .. my Labrador, Stella, is shedding her winter coat. Take that .. NIWA Break out the sunnies! 😎

Hope you've been watching our monthly ClimateWatch updates - we said all last year La Nina won't likely happen or impact our weather in 2024, and likely not much (if at all) in early 2025 either. Southern Ocean is mostly dominating NZ's weather this year (west to south-west driven).
