Chuck is to leather workers as Bob Ross is to painters. He is a wholesome man I learn so much from.

This is probably my next project.

I have no intention of making suspenders, but I always learn something from Chuck’s videos so they are always worth watching. Plus, these videos are always entertaining, and Chuck’s energy is infectious. Using others random-sized tools as an anvil? Absolutely brilliant 👍

I wear suspenders for work or dressing for the night out but usually I wear a belt

I was looking at the patch pattern, saw the face, and laughed my butt off when you pointed it out. Great project, Chuck!

Being someone who regularly wears suspenders or Braces as we'd call them here, I will be giving these a go soon! Edit, in addition, I have some traditional ends to some of my vintage braces and have clip-on false buttons that work really well and look great.

That was the "perfect" project. Thank you Chuck!

If you don't want to attach these to your belt loop I guess you could make some leather loops that go around your belt with D rings at the top and they could snap to those. It's what I was thinking the whole time I watched this video. Or, I suppose you could simply lengthen the suspenders and have them pass around the belt and snap to themselves. Great video Chuck!

From an Aussie saddlemaker, in metric, 2 - 3mm thick veg tan leather would do the trick. Chrome tan stretches too much,

Very nice and stylish chuck. Quick question, would a pull up leather suit suspenders or is there too much stretch in it?
@WeaverLeatherSupply2 жыл бұрын
Chrome tanned pull up leather should work great! We would recommend using 4/5oz -5/6oz thickness.

Hi there, if you click the link in the description it shows all of the tools and materials used in the video. This was a 4-5 oz. leather.

How much should one sell these for?
@WeaverLeatherSupply2 жыл бұрын
Comparable styles are sold on Etsy for anywhere from $50.00 - $90.00. It will just depend on what leather is used, high end or something less expensive that will influence the overall cost quite a bit.

Do you sell them

We don't sell the finished suspenders, no - just the materials to make your own!

Aussie saddlemaker here. I have never liked rotary punch pliers. Too much effort needed to squeeze the pliers, even the expensive high quality punch pliers. Much prefer a single hole punch with a mallet.
