If working two tails you could weave one color over one stitch and then next color over the next stitch. So each end would be woven every other stitch.

Yep works great and no bulk. I recently did this with a bulky yarn and stranded colorwork to weave in ends. I was going to post this suggestion as well.

I tried the double Weavin' Stephen today on a garter stitch project knit in fingering-weight yarn. It felt a bit fiddly at first, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. It's practically invisible and feels very secure. So glad to have learned about this technique. Thank you, Stephen.

Should have read the comments. Used the technique with one strand and dropping the other to weave in on the next row. DON'T, it will leave a hole which that you'll need to close. My suggestion is to weave in a couple of stitches with both ends before dropping one to weave on the next row or to alternate ends as mentioned by Debbie below. I wove in with double ends on the next sock and didn't have an issue with bulk. I knit socks two at a time with magic loop. Great technique and hoping that it holds up to the wear and tear of socks. it just might be the game-changer for me to give up using the double knot join. Spit joins are always the way to go with 100% animal non-superwash fibers. Thank you, Stephen!!!
