It's possible to hold the cross straight with most machines, but easier with some than others. It is something that you should either do all the time or never as it is a major factor in job to job consistency.

Wow, I was looking for something else about weaving on my loom, but wondered what this was. Very interesting to see how this is done. Well explained for those who need to do it!

I have had a bad experience with non-electronic stringing machines. I have to rackets strung at 60/59. But after a while, they loosen up and it affects my game a little. Before this last/current stringer (non-electronic) I had my racket strung with a electronic Prince and my string stayed tight and lasted longer before breaking. How can you prevent this? Or why is this happening? Thanks.

for one there is less tension so it should be easier and faster to weave the second weave than the first.

It gets harder as you move down the racket, as there is less slack in the mains. I usually end up using a "sewing" action on the last couple of crosses, as pushing takes MORE time.

0:55 It is most certainly not just as bad as pulling the cross string straight across. There is far less resistance when you push it down to the bottom.

i do it all the time , pull 2 string at a time.. just add 2 pounds more ...that should adjust for the tension

In the end, while weaving the last crosses. I find it difficult to do the pushmotion. Do you have any advise to make it easyer? Thanks

So is it safe to say that on every cross you should always (with every stringing pattern and variation) start the weave under the first main?

This looks so easy when you guys do it! :( I string mainly with Monofilament/ Co-Polyester-strings, and these are sooo stiff!! It's really hard, even to just get a hold on the string. Any tips for weaving those stiff and hard strings?

You rock. I have been stringing for a long time and my boss never taught me some of this. I have a spring loaded machine and not a electric; would i still be able to hold that cross efficiently and pull. It looks like it would slow me down. I push the cross against the other cross and pull then push it again to straighten. Any advise from you would be appreciated. Thnx. PS. you seem to have more knowledge than alot of the stringers I know and some of them have been doing it all there life.

Yes. Always. Even with polyester. :D Though sometimes I pay for it.

Do you always use this method of weaving your crosses (between the tips of your fingers), even with polyester string?

Do an all poly job with luxilon Alu rough. My hands felt like I lit them on fire afterwards. The mains are fine, but weaving poly in the crosses is terrible.

Why don't you pull the majority of the string through on the weave ahead before you pull tension on the previous string? That is leave enough to go into the tension head. I see it all the time, and it results in a 'hard pull' through of the slack string,

haha very true. luxilon rough is not fun to string.

@bc71766 Negative. It doesn't. Good stringers do not do this.

Yea thats no good. I had to do all luxilon Alu rough 16g @ 60 lbs. My fingers have been hurting since. stabbed my fingers a couple times and got a couple friction burns from that stuff.

That's a hard question to answer with what little info you've given me. Shoot me an email via YT with more info about how often you string and a budget.
