what pattern do you use for the warp? How many threads?

@@dianerundstrom7451 Let’s say you are using black and white for your alternating warp colors… Block 1. - thread black on shaft 1 and white on shaft 2 for however wide you want that block. Block 2. - thread white on shaft 1 and black on shaft 2 for however wide you want that block. So maybe you want 2 inches of block 1 and 3 inches of block 2, and then 4 inches of block 1, etc. Totally up to you. When you switch blocks you will have two warps of the same color next to each other. To get the block effect you weave one pick of the pattern weft followed by one pick of a thinner weft. To change pattern blocks, throw two pics of the thin weft between the alternating blocks. It’s up to you how tall you want the block.

The table runner has 24 white warps, and then white and black for 24, and just repeats.

Some of the warp is threaded alternating light and dark. In order to get all dark or all light warp to show, you have to throw a pic of the thin weft between each rag shot. If you are weaving with the dark warp showing and you want to switch to the light warp on top, you have to throw 2 shots of the thin weft. Without the thin weft, you would have one row with the dark warp on top, and one row with the light warp.
