You don't have to have 4 threads in the slits, you can put them in the holes and spaces...works perfectly

Why can’t you just thread the holes before you pack the beam at the same time you are doing the slots and then not have to transfer doubled ends to the holes? Would it cause a tension problem or abrasion when you pack your beam? New weaver here. I have not done a doubled threads project. Just curious.

You can.

After watching this, I understand well why you like using the elastics to hold the ends of the rigid heddle. Good idea.

thank you! I needed to see this!

For future reference, when you’re doing a double warp, you pull a double through the slot, then a double through the hole, then you just tie up nothing else to do you have made more work for yourself than necessary. Now you are going to have to go back and re-thread from the slot to the whole a double.

Question. When you first start placing your warp on the peg, could you just thread 2 ends in each slot and 2 ends in each hole to accomplish the 15/16 epi?

Yes. And save a lot of time too!

When you double the warp threads as demonstrated, do you also double the weft threads for a balanced weave?

We talk about what we did for the weft in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d366aoePqpWajac

Yes. Or use a thicker yarn for weft.

This however just means you doubled up the thread thickness and not truly weaving between all singe threads. That creates a unique texture vs just weaving single strands of thread.

When I double up like you were doing, I always do slot, then hole then slot, then hole then you have nothing to do when you’re done warping it
